The main founder of the team, Dyusha Metelkin, is married and happy. Fate brought him and Ksenia together in 2014. According to his wife, Dyusha is not at all the same as on stage. Polina Kalinova: Kostya, tell us what USB is preparing at the beginning of the new season?
Konstantin Malasaev: We have already filmed three episodes that will be shown on the first broadcasts. We have prepared not only music videos, for which Garik Martirosyan usually tries to kick us out of the studio. This season will feature a lot of completely different video content, including parodies of movies and television programs. For example, we created a new television project called “Yeralaksheri” - this is a parody of everyone’s favorite “Yeralash”, but for the inhabitants of Barvikha. There will be a parody of regional television - the KubankoTV channel for residents and vacationers at the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory. And for the State Duma elections we will present our own party, which is going to run for elections with its own political program... I promise, it will be a lot of fun! Over the past two years, we have made great progress in creativity and are now ready to conquer new horizons.
P.K.: How old is USB?
K.M.: Our group’s birthday is March 8, 2010. We are already six years old, we will soon go to school! In general, we have been working with the guys for a very long time - since 1999. Then we met, and in 2000 we began performing together as the KVN team “Maximum” in the city of Tomsk, where we lived at that time. In 2008, we became champions of the KVN Major League and were invited to work at the Comedy Club Production. Only two people “broke away” from the team; they went to another project, which was also quite successful. For six months we wrote texts for almost all the residents who were at Comedy at that time. And in 2010, it was decided to change the format of the show, and it was then that Garik Martirosyan suggested that we come up with our own project and go on the big stage with it. Thus the USB group was born. In principle, the guys and I had this idea for a long time, even when we were playing in KVN, but we still couldn’t “stick with it.” The name, by the way, was also born a long time ago. It’s surprising that such a popular, widespread word - USB - has not yet been taken up by any musical group. We came up with a cool decoding of the abbreviation - United Sexy Boys, and began creating images. Each of our characters is a parody of groups of popular performers in Russian show business. Dyusha Metelkin is Timati, Casta and other representatives of hip-hop culture. Stas - “Tea for Two”, singer Julian and other long-haired brutal singers with beards. Seryoga Gorely personifies chanson: as if he sat, as if he were a cattle, as if he had seen a lot in this life... Gena, who is always silent, is someone a little crazy, a kind of mixture of “Splins”, aliens and show business. And “my” Nikita is Nikita Malinin, Dima Bilan, Sergei Lazarev and other feminine boys of our stage. Why Nikita? We ourselves don’t know. It just came up that way. In fact, he could turn out to be both Boris and Innocent.

Nikita from the group is an exemplary family man. His image is far from provocative and controversial on stage; he adores his wife Julia. The wife works as a makeup artist. The couple has been living together for more than 10 years. Tomsk guy Sergei graduated from a polytechnic university. He performed on the KVN stage in the MaximuM team. In 2010 The path of life led him to Comedy, where he became Serge Gorely and Turbo in USB. In 2013 changes took place in the actor’s life: the man married Maria Melnik, although they had known each other since 2005.
The USB group ceased to exist, the guys decided to move on, changing the concept. At first, after this announcement, the fans were scared, but it turned out that the guys renamed the team, giving it the name Bad Star.” From the stage they declared themselves that they wanted to “change the music industry.”
Music
In 2011, the young Lithuanian moved to London with a friend. The choice of the city was not accidental: the guy wanted to improve his English and start creating music. The friends rented an apartment in an area of the capital, which turned out to be a real ghetto with dark-skinned residents. It was here that the young man heard grime, local rap, which has a specific pronunciation and is filled with slang expressions.
This genre delighted Nikita, and he decided to try to create compositions in a similar spirit. In an interview, the performer admitted that at that moment he clearly imagined, like a black and white photograph, a picture in which he stood on stage with dreadlocks (which the singer did not yet have at that time), performing in front of tens of thousands of people.

“What he saw” made the young man cry and understand: this is his path. At first, the Lithuanian did not record his own songs, but made covers of popular rap hits. This practice allowed him to hone his language, although even then the rapper realized that he wanted to sing not in British, but in American English.
In order to learn the desired pronunciation, the future artist listened to representatives of “old school” rap for 12 hours a day, constantly reciting lyrics on the way to and from work. By that time, Nikita realized that he wanted more, so in 2014 he made another move, this time to Los Angeles. Before leaving, the guy believed that he already spoke the language flawlessly.
However, once in the New World, he realized that he needed another 2-3 years to get rid of his accent. In the States, the musician came up with the creative pseudonym Atikin, which was a mirror image of the artist’s name, written in Latin.
The rapper created his first compositions in English. The texts were based on life stories that happened to a Lithuanian in exile. There was a place in them for criminal episodes, themes of separation from family, and much more. According to the guy, he took risks, lived, fought - this became an experience that Nikita rhymed and put to the beat.
In 2020, the debut album Borders was released, which received high marks from critics. In addition to the artist, other rappers participated in the work on the album, but no serious advertising campaign was carried out for the release. Therefore, the artist called the first project a mixtape.
In 2020, Atikin decided on a bold experiment and created the album “Black Hoodie”, in which he recorded songs in Russian. The guy noted that this language turned out to be more difficult for creativity due to the peculiarities of grammar and stress, but thereby interested the author even more.
In 2020, for the first time in his life, a Lithuanian went on a tour to Russia. The cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and others, which Nikita visited with concerts, delighted him.

History of creation
The group called United Sexy Boys (or USB for short) was formed in 2009. The guys performed at various events with parodies of famous people - actors, musicians and singers. The public received them with a bang. Young comedians received good fees. For complete happiness they lacked one thing - all-Russian fame.
A representative of the production center Comedy Club was present at one of the performances of the USB group. He highly appreciated the guys' humor and acting abilities. This man invited the guys to perform on the air of the Comedy Club. Our heroes could not miss this opportunity.
For several days the guys rehearsed a humorous act. They clearly understood: if you lose face, you won’t see fame. And the guys gave it 100%. The audience liked their unconventional humor. And the management of the TNT channel signed a contract with them.
