Today, social networks are literally flooded with bloggers, famous and not so famous. As a rule, the vast majority of them come from ordinary people. That is why they are so popular, and fans want to know as much as possible about them. The hero of the article is Yulik Oneshko, one of the largest domestic YouTubers. Let's take a look at his background and find out how he found his niche in vlogging.

Biography

Yuliy was born and raised in Ulyanovsk.

Nothing is known about his parents. He prefers not to talk about this.

In one of the episodes, Yulik once admitted that because of his height at school he was nicknamed “sleeper,” but he did not experience any problems communicating with his peers.

It is known that he studied at secondary school No. 6. He had good academic performance, and the boy was very charismatic, sociable and had many friends.

After 9th grade, having received a certificate, he enters a vocational school. Later it became clear to him that in vocational school he was simply wasting his time.

Then the guy pulls himself together and successfully enters the university, but in his second year he is expelled due to debts.

At that moment, the parents stopped providing for their son, and he got a job in an office. A stable job from 08:00 to 17:00 with two days off a week and a small salary did not suit him.

Being very ambitious, Julius decides to radically change his life. It was 2012 and video blogging in Russia had just begun to develop.

Childhood and youth

Oneshko Julius Aleksandrovich was born on June 11, 1993 in the small Russian city of Ulyanovsk under the zodiac sign Gemini. The guy's nationality and the names of his parents are unknown. Judging by archival photos, as a child he was a mischievous and active child.

After completing only 9 classes at a local secondary school, the guy decided to enter a vocational school (in other words, a vocational school). However, less than a year had passed before Oneshko realized that by attending lectures at an educational institution, he was wasting his precious time.

Yuliy Oneshko in childhood
The young man decided to continue his education at a university in order to avoid conscription into the army - he passed the entrance exams and submitted documents to the Ulyanovsk Institute. But this time, Yuliy was not able to complete what he started - due to low academic performance and systematic absenteeism, the young man was expelled in his 2nd year.

Due to the need to raise finances on his own, Oneshko got a job as an office worker. Ultimately, Julius quickly realized that such a boring and measured life did not suit him too much, so he soon announced his resignation to his superiors.

First experiences on YouTube

In May 2012, Yuliy registered his first channel on YouTube. He then called it TheCrudeToons. He created amateur animated videos and thereby tried to interest viewers.

His video, called “The Gopnik Who Could,” gained more than 150 views in a short period of time.

Naturally, the young man was impressed and he continued making short animated videos, but they were no longer so cool and funny, but they took a lot of time and effort and turned out to be unprofitable. Views were falling. A year later, Yuliy abandons TheCrudeToons.

Yulik now

In the second half of 2017, Yulik introduced the “Laughed-Lost” section, in which a young man watches and reacts to various videos sent to him by viewers.

During the release of the scandalous program “Hype Camp,” Oneshko also began recording his comments on it. The YouTuber even creates his own humorous show, Yulik Camp, which makes fun of the original. In October, the blogger releases the pilot episode of his amateur series “Who I Live With,” in which the guy plays the roles of all the characters.

At the same time, Oneshko began making reviews of the dating app Tinder, in which he demonstrated what kind of “strange” people one could encounter there. Later, a Tinder representative contacted the blogger's manager and accused the blogger of exposing their product in a negative light. The young man was threatened with legal action if all videos about the application were not deleted. Oneshko made a video about this, and a little later another representative of the same brand contacted the same manager Yulia, explaining that no one was going to sue the blogger.

In November, the guy introduces a new format, “Shame on Instagram,” in which he reviews the accounts of unusual and freaky people who post their photos on Instagram. It is because of such projects that Oneshko receives a lot of criticism from representatives of the body positive and feminism movements. In general, Yulik began filming and posting videos with enviable regularity. As a rule, these are some kind of conversational or reaction videos to some trend on the Internet. Therefore, the channel began to quickly gain an audience and already in the second half of November the “Julius Speak” channel collected more than 1 million subscribers. And this is far from the limit for a promising and experienced Internet figure who continues to work on the site, experimenting with formats and participating in the projects of his friends.

Yulik Oneshko is a Russian YouTube blogger who gained wide popularity thanks to reactions. He also produces reviews and entertainment content. The main theme of his videos are pressing issues that he tries to analyze, ridicule, or simply highlight for his subscribers.

YouTube channel

After the failure, the young man almost immediately launched a second channel, JuliusSpeak. This time he began filming himself.

Yulik posted humorous videos and video sketches that lasted 5-7 minutes. In the spring of 2014, 10,000 people subscribed to it, but views began to fall again.

Oneshko realized that viewers quickly got bored with the same format. He started experimenting - and he was right: this is how a new section “Yulik in Public” and “Night Watch” appeared on his channel.

There were more likes, the audience increased and the YouTuber’s fame grew. At the same time, the guy began to master Stand Up and even performed in front of the audience.

To move forward, in 2020 the blogger participated as a guest in the “Live Broadcast” program. The topic of the issue was a joke by the famous public MDK regarding the death of Zhanna Friske. Having appeared on the federal channel, and even on a scandalous topic, his number of subscribers reached 50,000.

Creative activity

After leaving work, the young man had time, which he whiled away watching funny videos on the Internet. While doing this, he was struck by the brilliant idea of creating his own channel. Oneshko decided that he could film his product no worse than other network users.

In 2012, Yulik registered on YouTube. The guy called his channel “The CrudeToons”. The first animated video, “The Gopnik Who Couldn’t,” brought popularity to the novice blogger. More than 10 thousand people watched it. The success inspired Oneshko, but after releasing several such videos, Yuli realized that this activity was labor-intensive and unprofitable.

Julius registers a new account on YouTube – “JuliusSpeak”, where he uploads humorous videos. The number of subscribers to the new channel is rapidly increasing up to a certain point. In 2014, the number of views begins to fall, which encourages Oneshko to try himself in a new genre - stand-up.

Already in April 2020, the number of subscribers exceeded 50 thousand. And after the release of the program “This is Good,” they increased significantly, as the video received more than 1 million views. In the summer of the same year, Oneshko was invited to the “Russia 1” channel for the “Live Broadcast” program. The show discussed immoral comments related to the tragic death of Zhanna Friske. After this, interest in Julius from the audience increased.

In the summer of 2020, the premiere of the video “Vipers Gone Crazy” took place - the first release about e-cigarette lovers. Yuli’s companion, who worked with him to create the video, was Ruslan Tushentsov. A month later, the blogger was the first to introduce the “Associations” section. The presenter voiced the words, and the YouTubers had to answer what associations they evoked.

Sections on the blogger’s channel that are popular:

  • “Laughed-Lost”;
  • "Yulik Kemp";
  • "Tinder";
  • “Shame on Instagram.”

In the fall of 2020, Oneshko filmed the comedy web series “Who I Live With,” in which he played all the characters. The number of subscribers to his channel has exceeded 1 million.

Peak of popularity

Yulik became truly popular in 2020 thanks to his shows “Laughed - Lost” and “Shame on Instagram.”

He also began filming his reactions on the reality show Hype Camp, which aired on YouTube. This project received a mountain of negative feedback even at the start. Yulik took advantage of this and began reviewing every episode on his channel. Traffic on JuliusSpeak grew exponentially.

The blogger realized that this was exactly what he was looking for. His reactions brought a lot of views and discussions, and they were easy and inexpensive to film.

From that moment on, he quickly gained a million subscribers and received the coveted golden YouTube button.

Response videos to a variety of reality shows, series, channels began to appear on his channel; he discussed other bloggers, freaks and other events. The audience especially liked his review of the “Pregnant at 16” program.

HypeCamp

HypeCamp is a project launched in the summer of 2020. At its core, this is a reality show in which young talents could improve their video blogging skills under the mentorship of YouTube stars and Dani Komkov.

In fact, the show turned out to be a real “hell's kitchen” for the unprepared children who took part in the project. Criticism towards Hype Camp flowed from every crevice, but it was Yulik who succeeded best in this, skillfully integrating it into his “Reactions” section.

Each of Yulik’s videos dedicated to the project collected more than a million views, 2 of them even made it into the top ten most popular in the history of the channel.

Thus, Hype Camp can be considered the main catalyst for the popularity of Yuli Oneshko.

Presidential election scandal

In March 2020, the presidential elections of the Russian Federation took place. Shortly before this, he posted the video “Diss on Yulika” on the channel, which was filmed as part of the “Who is your candidate” project from Lenta.ru. There was an extremely negative reaction to the video and the lyrics of the song, and Oneshko found himself at the center of the scandal.

The blogger was accused of selling out to the authorities, was bombarded with dislikes and began to be called a “Kremlin bot.” People unsubscribed from the channel en masse, believing that their idol had betrayed his own viewers.

9 days after the presidential elections, Yuliy published a video apologizing to his subscribers. He did not delete the scandalous clip.
