Meeting of Leva and Shura
The joint creative biography of Shura “Bi-2” and Leva began with the Minsk theater studio “Rond”, which Leva joined in 1985. It just so happened that he stopped being interested in studies after the 8th grade of school. Most of the participants are teenagers aged 14-18 years. But it was the studio that had a decisive influence on Leva and shaped his life principles and values.
The studio director noted that Leva did not show much interest in literature. In his opinion, without literature, further stage advancement was impossible. Shura decided to help his friend in the educational process. This was the starting point for the joint biography of Shura “Bi-2” and Leva. The Minsk Politburo banned performances, and soon Shura and Leva changed the texts to notes.
Biography of Shura Bi-2
Alexander Uman, better known under the pseudonym Shura Bi-2, is a man whose whole life is inextricably linked with art.
At first he dreamed of connecting his life with the theater, but later switched to music. And I was right. As a guitarist, songwriter and one of the leading members of the Bi-2 group, he became famous not only in his native Belarus, but also far beyond its borders. Russia, Israel, Lithuania, Ukraine and even Australia - in each of these countries, songs written by Alexander Uman are extremely popular. But what makes this musician’s work so special? A short story about the life path and career of a famous musician will help you understand this.
First stage steps
Leva became interested in poetry, but wanted to get his work appreciated, so he showed his poems to Shura. He took the poems to his uncle, who had little connections and experience in show business. Soon Shura learned that one of the clubs had the opportunity to borrow equipment. This is how the idea of creating a group was born. “Brothers in Arms” was the name of the first joint group of Shura and Leva. It was considered quite successful. At one of the festivals, Shura and Leva beat Max Pokrovsky and other already famous teams. Soon the musicians renamed the group “Coast of Truth”, later shortening the name to the modern “Bi-2”. In 1991, the guys traveled around Belarus and released their debut album, which had the provocative title “Traitors to the Motherland.”
At first, the group could not boast of a stable team, but Shura and Leva always stayed together, wrote songs together and discussed emerging issues.
Elizaveta Bee Two: “It’s always beautiful if it’s done with love”
About concept development, inspiration and people
August 6, 2019
As part of the Summer Peace Summit, members of the Peace-50 community spoke about the preservation and development of peace. Women from different countries direct all their efforts to ensure that harmony, tranquility and beauty reign on our planet.
Beauty is a concept that is characterized not only by external qualities, but also by a serious internal meaning. Entrepreneur Elizaveta Bee Two, a member of the Peace-50 community, is convinced of this. Together with a team of like-minded people, she brings beauty to the world and shares her love of life with others. “Always Beautiful” is a project that combines creativity, innovation and intelligence.
Elizaveta Bi Dva Founder and ideological inspirer of the concept development company “Always Beautiful” |
Elizabeth's creative path began in 2005 with work as an art director for a cinema chain. Then she was involved in organizing film premieres and decorating the space. The customers were delighted with the creative and highly professional approach. Over time, Elizabeth had the idea to create her own agency.
“Always Beautiful” has been on the market for 12 years. Over the years, the company has changed and developed. However, the concept has remained unchanged - to do not only beautifully, but also with love.
Today, “Always Beautiful” operates in four main areas: creating the image of a space, developing and creating scenery, organizing events in a variety of formats and video production, including using technologies - 360, AR/VR. The team has many ideas that are actively being implemented.
Each project contains a specific concept and deep design.
Happiness lies in the people around us, says Elizabeth. She pays a lot of attention to understanding those around her and learning their stories.
One of the projects is aimed at this. Interesting media personalities - actors, musicians, directors and representatives of many other professions - take part in the program. However, they do not answer the usual questions, but use the alphabet as the basis for a monologue, in which behind each letter there is a word, concept, title, name, event that has a special meaning for a person. This allows you to get away from template biographical stories, make you think and turn to emotions and feelings.
All this is just a small part of the work of the “Always Beautiful” team. The company implements many online and offline projects, bringing to life even the most incredible ideas.
Elizaveta is proud of the team she was able to form. It was important for her to have specialists working with her who were “passionate” about their work and believed in what they were doing.
The company has a document that describes all the principles and values of the organization. Every new employee studies it before becoming part of the team. This allows you to unite people with common interests and life values in an organization. All team members, including Elizabeth herself, are ambitious perfectionists who put their souls into their work.
It is important that every human action is filled with love, then it takes on a special meaning and gives great results.
Always Beautiful is about creativity and innovation. The whole world is a source of inspiration and energy for Elizabeth. Boat walks, helicopter flights, yoga classes and communication with interesting people give her strength and “refresh” her mind.
“It’s good when you know exactly what inspires you. Our world is filled with sources of inspiration, and it is very important to understand which one you need to turn to,” says Elizaveta.
Through her activities, Elizabeth strives to bring beauty into the world and give joy to those around her. She sees the meaning of life in finding harmony with oneself, calmness, happiness and sharing this with others, creating a warm atmosphere throughout the world.
We are open to dialogue on social networks. You can share your ideas and suggestions for new publications.

Life of the group after the USSR
The collapse of the Union hit the popularity of musicians hard. It was difficult to create under the conditions of perestroika, and Shura went to work in Israel. In a year and a half, the musician changed 15 professions in various fields. In 1992, the Bi-2 group reassembled and won leadership at the Jerusalem rock music festival. Afterwards, the musicians gave several concerts and recorded their hit “Varvara”. Then they had to separate again.
Shura went to Australia and devoted himself entirely to music. The most successful was Shura's collaboration with the Chiron group. Shura and Leva decided to reassemble the Bi-2 group. The first album was not very successful, but the second, named after the group, brought fame to the musicians.
Personal life
The personal biography of Shura “Bi-2” and Leva does not become public knowledge. Shura met his love in Italy on vacation. From this marriage the musician has two children: Eva (8 years old) and Oliver (5 years old).
Leva was married to Irina Makeeva, and in this marriage he had a son. But Leva left the family for Asya Streicher. In 2008, the couple had a son, Aiv, and 2 years later, a second son named David.
For those who say that Russian rock is dead, the creative biography of Shura “Bi-2” and Leva proves the opposite. We invite you to remember how it all began and listen to the debut track “Bi-2” on the Russian stage “Colonel”
Their work is alive after two decades, and the composition “Compromise” made its way to the top of the music charts, which is rare in the world of pop music. We hope that the biography of Shura “Bi-2” and Leva will delight fans with interesting facts for many years to come.
Leva Bi-2: “Age doesn’t matter”
The nickname Lev stuck to Yegor Bortnik back in school. He received it because of a lion's fang, which his father gave and hung around his neck as a talisman. By the way, according to his passport, the musician is actually Igor. This is how they wrote it down in Israel without understanding the name Yegor.
"Coast of Truth"
The artist was born on September 2, 1972 in Minsk. The father of the future musician, radiophysicist Mikhail Vasilyevich Bortnik, received an invitation to teach at the University of the Congo. The family moved with him for a while and then returned to their homeland. Leva’s love for music came to him as a child after the boy heard the song “Cruiser Aurora,” which made an indelible impression on him. Then he decided that he would write songs himself. True, everything was limited to one composition based on folk art. Then Leva became interested in psychedelic music.
At school, Bortnik studied well until the 7th grade, and then he enrolled in a theater studio and lost interest in studying. At the theater studio, Leva met Alexander Uman, now Shura Bi-2. Yegor let him read his poems. And when the studio was closed, the friends created their own punk rock band. “We looked a little different at that time than we do now,” says Leva. “I had American military boots that were tied with wire, torn pants and a torn leather jacket with ponytails. It says Police on the back. And Shura was the same.”
Leva wrote the lyrics, and Shura wrote the music. At first their team was called “Brothers in Arms”, and then they became “Bi-2”, which means “shore of truth”. “You know, when we were little, we wanted to name the group something sonorous, so that everyone would immediately understand that we were so smart. Conceptual, the musicians said then. – And now we seem to take it easier. We reduced everything literally to initials and added the number “2”. Great experts in semiotics told us that all this is correct, that this combination, as it were, moves our ship, on which we sail in the right direction.”
In 1991, Leva toured with the band, and then a crisis began among the musicians. Shura left for Israel, and Leva soon followed his colleague. But in Israel it didn’t work out with creativity. The guys performed at festivals, recorded the song “Varvara”, which became a hit, but serious success did not come.
In 1993, Shura moved to Australia - the group broke up. Leva Bi-2 stopped making music, and sang songs only in a close circle. This went on for 5 years, until the singer decided to fly to a friend in Australia: “I didn’t make a living from music there. At that time, I had a team of painters who were renovating various residential premises. But the lesson was still so successful that it later gave Shura and I the opportunity to record our first record. I think it cost about $10,000.”
Scandal and leaving the family
While the musicians lived in Australia, a virtual star called “Bi-2” appeared in Moscow. The song “Heart” appeared on the radio, various websites endlessly reported that the group would perform in Moscow, and Leva, at home in Australia, read with interest about it on the Internet. He even tried to contact the owners of one site by phone: when asked about concerts, he was informed that information about the Bi-2 group had been received from its managers. It turns out that the virtual group already has virtual management! And only the radio stations played very real songs, and as a result, one night a Moscow journalist called Shura: “We are waiting for you at the Maxidrome, when are you arriving?” On the day of the festival?
The Bi-2 musicians realized that it was time to return. And when in 2000 the soundtrack to the film “Brother-2” appeared with the song “Nobody Writes to the Colonel,” the group became famous. Lyova and Shura jokingly say that they are still friends only because they like different women, otherwise they would have fled long ago. The hardest thing to fight for is love, and they even like to divide creativity, fame and money between two.
Leva Bi-2 was married twice. The first wife is Irina Makeeva. The young couple got married when their son Fyodor turned one year old. True, the stamp in the passport did not fix the difficult relationship: Leva’s acquaintance with another woman destroyed this marriage. The young couple first met Asya Streicher, his second wife, on a train when they were going to a festival in Jurmala. Asya accompanied the Mumiy Troll group as a tour manager. Leva Bi-2 recalls that he saw a girl and fell in love, and 15 minutes later he risked confessing his love to her. That time the paths of the young people diverged.
Leva married Irina, a son was growing up in the family, but fate brought the musician and Asya together again. At first, the lovers met secretly, but the musician’s wife found out about this and a scandal broke out. Recently, Irina even told that life with the artist at that time was terrible, he allegedly beat her. So, Irina claims, her husband raised his hand to her during their second honeymoon - in August 2004, when the couple went on vacation to the Dominican Republic: “Leva started drinking on the plane and after two days he fell into a rage: he threw things around, wanted to walking naked around the hotel. I will never forget the tiles in the bathroom, the salty taste in my mouth and my own face, which I did not recognize in the mirror - it turned into a bloody mess, one big bruise.” When the woman found out that her husband had a mistress and began asking him questions about it, he allegedly beat her again.
Leva left the family, and after the divorce he married Asa. In 2008, she gave birth to a son, Aviv, and in 2010, David was born. This marriage has a complex relationship: the spouses either separate or live together again. Once Asya even wanted to collect child support from Leva Bi-2 through the court. The wife explained her own decision to journalists by saying that they had been living separately for a long time. Soon relations within the family improved, the couple shared photos on the Internet where they were happy together.
Leva continues to play music and says: “Don’t ask me about my age. Actually, I don't know how old I am. I'm surprised every time when September 2 comes around again. In general, I am sure that age does not matter. It doesn't matter. The most important thing is to do what you love and do it well. This is significant."
