Since the beginning of December, the military drama “Rzhev” about the battles during the Great Patriotic War has been shown on big screens. Actor Grigory Nekrasov, who played the role of the special officer, spoke about the work on the image.
On December 5, the premiere of Igor Kopylov’s film “Rzhev” took place in Russia. The plot is based on the story of the front-line writer Vyacheslav Kondratiev “Redeemer with Blood.” According to the director, the task of the film crew was to reflect the horrors of war honestly, as Vyacheslav Leonidovich did in his work. The film shows a day in the life of fighters who need to protect an important strategic point - the village of Ovsyannikovo. In addition to battles with soldiers of Nazi Germany, a meeting with the lieutenant of the Special Department, Rykov, becomes a serious test for the Red Army soldiers. In the search for German leaflets, the special officer acts harshly: he threatens with a weapon anyone who refuses to show his pockets.
According to historians, such harsh measures on the part of the Special Department were completely justified. “The special department played an exceptional role. People were different, because where did more than one million traitors who worked for Germany come from in the country? Special officers played a big role in identifying traitors. We live in peacetime and we see that people behave badly. And in a war, you imagine, he is alive now, and in a minute he will be killed. All sorts of thoughts. Either cross this side, or run to the rear. Deserters also formed into gangs and terrorized the population. War is a very complicated thing,” Vladimir Ivanovich Karimov, head of the department of history of the people’s militia at the State Museum of Defense of Moscow, comments on this difficult historical period.

In order to create a convincing image, Gregory came up with a backstory for his hero and kept a diary on his behalf. “I didn’t have many shooting days. The role of Special Branch lieutenant is not an easy role. During the short filming period, it was necessary to immediately reach the maximum; there was no time to play out. In addition, actors often want to show their best side, but here it was necessary to play the exact opposite. The team knew that I was generally a good person, so I could demonstrate other qualities. The group actively helped me,” notes Nekrasov. The most memorable for the artist was the final scene of his character. On the day of filming, Gregory had to lie in the snow for a long time in the cold. He was greatly impressed by the owl that was flying over the site at that time. According to Nekrasov, the appearance of the bird carried some special sign.
Since the premiere, many famous artists have spoken about their impressions of watching Rzhev. Actor, director and producer Alexander Tyutryumov appreciated the film: “A wonderful film.
