Childhood

Anton Shipulin was born in Tyumen in 1987. From birth, the child’s fate was predetermined, since his parents were professional biathlon and skiers. His father, Vladimir Ivanovich, began training Anton when he was barely 3 years old. Together with the hero of this article, his sisters, Nastya and Anya, also worked. Anton's mother, Alla Abushaevna, like her husband, was a professional athlete. Moreover, both Shipulin’s parents had the title of master of sports (in biathlon and cross-country skiing).

During the period of perestroika, Alla Abushaevna and Vladimir Ivanovich changed their occupation. Now their professions were not related to sports. One of his mother’s friends began to train Anton. Shipulin was engaged in skiing until the age of 14. Around the same period, his sister Anastasia became seriously involved in biathlon. One day after training she brought the rifle home. Anton developed a great interest in this weapon. He spent a long time trying to persuade his sister to let him touch the rifle. Immediately after this, the young man firmly decided to connect his future life with biathlon.

Therefore, Anton spent nights rewriting lectures and notes, memorizing the rules of law. And during the day the young man trained until exhaustion.

At the Biathlon World Championships (2017)

The biathletes were preparing for the Olympics in Pyeongchang, but Shipulin, like a number of other compatriots, did not receive an invitation to the Games - allegedly his doping tests were changed at the 2014 Olympics. Although his name did not appear in McLaren’s scandalous report, and the IOC did not identify any violations on his part.

Vancouver Olympics

Anton Shipulin got to these competitions mainly due to his previous achievements. In Vancouver he was unable to show good biathlon. It was hard to compete with famous athletes. In addition, Anton had no experience of performing at such competitions. As a result, Shipulin received only a bronze medal in the relay. The athlete spent his stage brilliantly, never missing a single shot at the shooting range.

In the 2011-2013 seasons, Anton showed only stable results at the World Cup, both in skiing and shooting. Thanks to hard training, the biathlete took only prize-winning places in various stages of the competition. Now marksmanship has become the athlete's calling card.

Studying at a university was not the easiest time in the life of an athlete. The fact that, in addition to studying, the student is seriously involved in biathlon, did not in any way contribute to the loyalty of the teachers, who demanded knowledge, not awards. Therefore, he had to copy notes and lectures all night long, cram the rules of law, and train until exhaustion during the day. But later the athlete did not regret that he had to learn so much information.

While studying at the university, Anton participated in junior competitions from Khanty-Mansiysk, where he was noticed in 2006 by coach Vladimir Putrov. At the invitation of the eminent specialist, the athlete moved to Yekaterinburg, where he still lives. Since then, Anton Shipulin’s sports biography has reached a new level. 2006 brought the athlete his first serious successes in his sports career - Anton Shipulin won gold in the relay at the World Championships.

Performance at the World Championships in 2009 did not show the same results as before.
