I play a young guy named Ian, who has only one goal in life - to become the winner of the popular online game "Nerve". At some point, he meets a shy high school girl, Vi, played by my fellow actress Emma Roberts, and this completely changes his behavior. Ian's priorities change: he not only pursues his goal, but also takes care of the girl.
Did you and Emma easily find creative contact?
Yes, working with her was cool and fun. We have known each other for a long time - we worked together on a music video. Of course, the fact that we knew each other a little helped a lot on the set. Emma is very brave and performed her own stunts on a motorcycle.

In general, there is a lot of action in the film.
Still would! My hero, having once experienced a rush of adrenaline, finds it very difficult to return to normal life. Together with V, they become hostages of the game, now their actions are controlled by a virtual community of anonymous people. There are a couple of scenes in the film where Emma and I performed dangerous tasks. When performing stunts, we even took a GoPro camera with us to enhance the effect of increased danger.
What scene do you remember most?
The motorcycle racing scene was the most exciting! In just a few seconds, the heroes needed to accelerate to maximum speed, while my Ian had his eyes closed, and V told him the way. We filmed this scene for three hours, it was very difficult. For this stunt, I got on a motorcycle for the first time, can you imagine!
What exactly would you not decide to do if you played the game “Nerve”?
I'm terribly afraid of heights and snakes. That would really be too much for me! In general, if I were participating in this game in real life, I would prefer to be a spectator. (Smiles.)
Do you think you managed to prove that there are two cool actors in the Franco family?
The viewer knows better! (Laughs.)
Besides acting, you also like directing. Would you like to do only one thing over time?
Maybe. I don't think I'll be an actor all my life. I can’t even imagine myself as a seventy-year-old grandfather chasing roles. Still, as I get older, I see myself more on the other side of the camera.
