Actor Kirill Lavrov
It is worth noting that right up to his death he did not stop acting and delighting fans with new amazing works.
Childhood and family of Kirill Lavrov
Honored actor of the USSR Kirill Lavrov was born on September 15, 1925 in Leningrad. His father devoted his life to the theater, in particular the Bolshoi Drama Theater (BDT), his mother was also an actress and radio station presenter.
Kirill Lavrov with his father
Despite the creative atmosphere that reigned in the family, the boy was a real hooligan. To channel his energy in the right direction, his parents decided to enroll the guy in the football section. This sport fascinated Kirill so much that he soon became a full member of the Spartak team.
While still a child, Kirill was left alone with his grandmother in Leningrad, who raised him, and his parents, due to the tense social situation, had to move to Kyiv and build a career there. With the advent of war, the boy was evacuated to Novosibirsk.
Kirill Lavrov in childhood
At the age of 15, the young man was forced to go to work at a factory, where he became a professional turner. There was a war going on and despite his young age, Kirill tried to go to the front as a volunteer. Only in 1943 did he enter the military aviation school, where he received a mechanic’s diploma. But he never went to war, because his training ended in 1945. After this, the young man was sent to the Kuril Islands, where he worked for 5 years at a military flight base.
Kirill Lavrov in his youth
The base was located far from the mainland, the service was not labor-intensive, and the personnel had a lot of free time. Therefore, colleagues, together with Kirill Lavrov, organized a local theater. The guy always remembered his cherished dream. While in service, he took part in all productions and was actively involved in amateur performances.
After demobilization, Lavrov went to Moscow and applied to almost all theater universities, but as it turned out, his experience was too little for the admissions committee. In addition, because of the war, he was never able to finish school and receive a certificate.
Kirill Lavrov always wanted to become an actor
Disappointed in his abilities, he decided to visit his father and left for Kyiv. At that time, Yuri Sergeevich worked at the famous Russian Drama Theater named after. Lesya Ukrainka, so he helped his son get a job there. From that moment on, Kirill opened a new page in his life.
Theatrical career of Kirill Lavrov
Thanks to his father’s connections, Kirill was hired, but for the probationary period, the young man did not have a specialized education. At first, the guy could only be seen in the crowd, but over time, director Konstantin Kh-khov saw potential in him. A few weeks later, Lavrov received a place and appeared in serious productions and plays as a leading actor.
Kirill Lavrov on the stage of the BDT
In 1955, the man received an unexpected invitation from the Bolshoi Drama Theater and decided to return to St. Petersburg. It was behind these walls that a legend was born that the entire Soviet Union knew. This was facilitated by the fact that Konstantin Kh-khov became the artistic director of the theater, who invited Kirill.
Despite various offers and filming, Kirill was faithful to his native theater until the last days of his life. He has produced such famous productions as “Woe from Wit”, “Uncle Vanya”, “Three Sisters”, “The Inspector General” and others. In 1989, Lavrov deservedly became director of the Bolshoi Theater and led it until his death.
Moving to Leningrad
The couple worked so successfully in the theater that they received an offer to move to Leningrad from Konstantin Khokhlov, who in 1955 became the artistic director of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. Maxim Gorky. In 1956, the theater was headed by G. Tovstonogov. Actress Valentina Nikolaeva and her husband worked with him from 1956 until the birth of their daughter in 1965. It’s interesting that Kirill Lavrov found out about the birth of his second child while he was on tour, and in a congratulatory telegram he wrote that he was kissing Masha. This is how Valentina Nikolaeva found out what to name her daughter. After her birth, the actress practically left work in the theater, and Lavrov, on the contrary, went on tour and filming even more actively. Although the spouses were forced to separate quite often, this did not affect family relationships, which until the last days of Valentina Alexandrovna’s life were warm and friendly.
Acting career of Kirill Lavrov
Kirill managed to make his first debut on television only in 1955, after he returned to Leningrad.
Then he got a minor role as a bricklayer in the family film “Vasek Trubachev and His Comrades.” Then, from 1955 to 1960, Lavrov played exclusively leading roles. He can be seen in the drama “Paths and Fates,” the comedy “Honeymoon,” the military melodrama “Dear Immortality,” the biography “In the Days of October,” the musical “Quarrel in Lukashi” and the melodrama “The Tale of the Newlyweds.” Kirill Lavrov managed to become truly popular and recognizable in 1963 with the release of the military drama “The Living and the Dead.” This time the actor had to reincarnate as the brave and honest correspondent Sintsov. TV viewers liked the film so much that more than 45 million people watched it, which became a record. Anatoly Papanov, Oleg Efremov, Mikhail Ulyanov, Oleg Tabakov and Evgeny Samoilov also played in the film.

Literally a year later, Lavrov got one of the key roles in the drama “Believe me, people.” According to the plot, Alexei (Kirill) has only a month left to serve in prison, but he still decides to escape. By chance, the man managed to escape punishment, and he went to Leningrad, where he rented a small room, met the owner’s daughter and tried to start life again.
From 1966 to 1977, Lavrov delighted his fans with significant film work. He can be seen in such films as “Retribution”, “The Brothers Karamazov”, “Our Friends”, “Tchaikovsky”, “Taming the Fire”, “Trust” and “Feedback”. The next wave of popularity overtook the actor with the release of the melodrama “Journey to Another City.” This time he had to play the role of a romantic who accidentally met an attractive woman. Having met their gazes, a spark immediately flashed between them and they fell madly in love with each other, but never became happy. Together with the actor, Irina Kupchenko, Viktor Proskurin, Igor Gorbachev and Elena Kondulainen are involved in the film.
In 1982, Lavrov got a key role in the melodrama “Rendezvous with Youth,” which tells the story of a successful factory director. One day, a young attractive woman got into his car and showed him pictures. As it turned out, the pictures showed his former lover, and the young beauty was none other than his own daughter, about whom the main character knew nothing. In the film you can see such actors as Galina Polskikh, Nelly Kornienko, Sofya Gorshkova, Tamara Loginova and Georgy Burkov.

Personal life of Kirill Lavrov
The only legal chosen one of the talented and famous actor was his wife Valentina. The young people met while working at the theater. Lesya Ukrainka. At that time, Kirill was just taking his first steps on stage and was dating the aspiring actress Elina Bystritskaya. Valya Nikolaeva came to the theater after studying at the Moscow Moscow Art Theater and coped well with the role of gentle and lyrical young ladies.
Kirill Lavrov and his wife Valentina
After talking a little, the young actors found kindred spirits in each other. For the sake of a dorm room, they quickly got married, but officially got married only a year later. After some time, they moved together to the Northern capital.
In 1955, they had a son, Sergei, and 10 years later, a daughter, Masha. The eldest first entered the university, but then, deciding to study music, he abandoned his studies. The daughter followed in the footsteps of her parents by entering a theater university. At the age of 17, she got married and gave Kirill Lavrov a granddaughter.
Kirill Lavrov with his wife and children
In 2002, Valentina’s wife became seriously ill, and a few months later, in the summer, she died. They lived together for 49 years. This knocked Kirill down, because he couldn’t imagine life without his soul mate.
Kirill Lavrov and his last love Anastasia Lozovskaya
3 years after the funeral, Lavrov met the pretty young beauty Nastya, who worked as a costume designer in his theater. Despite the huge age difference of 45 years, they lived happily for several years. There were rumors that she was dating only for money, but the actor’s daughter denied these speculations, convincing the public that dad was really happy because she sincerely loved him.
Personal life
The actor was undoubtedly popular among women, but the only one who was able to attract Lavrov was Valentina Nikolaeva. Valentina was the only legal chosen one of Kirill Yuryevich. The couple met at the theater back in Kyiv.
Kirill was just starting his career and was dating actress Elina Bystritskaya. And Valentina came to the theater after graduating from the Moscow Moscow Art Theater and played in the images of lyrical young ladies.
It didn't take long for the young actors to realize that they had "found each other." To get a room in the dorm, Kirill and Valentina got married pretty quickly. And after some time, we arrived together in St. Petersburg.
In 1955, their son Sergei was born, and 10 years later their daughter Masha. The son entered the university, tried to study, but later gave up and decided to devote himself to music. Maria entered a theater university and followed in her parents' footsteps. Already at 17 she got married and gave birth to a daughter.
The Lavrovs lived happily in marriage for almost half a century. But in 2002, Valentina Alexandrovna passed away. The actor worried about the loss of his soul mate for quite a long time and deeply.
Three years after the death of his wife, Lavrov met Anastasia Lozovskaya , who worked as a costume designer in the theater. The couple was together during the last years of the actor's life. Although an alliance with such a large age difference caused mistrust, daughter Kirill Yuryevich saw that her father was happy and Anastasia really loved him.
In 2006, after a clinical examination, it became clear that the actor required a bone marrow transplant. Without hesitation, daughter Maria became the donor. She extended my father's life, but unfortunately, not for long. Actor Kirill Lavrov died on April 27, 2007. The actor was buried next to his wife.
The last years of Kirill Lavrov's life
In 2000, the actor got a minor role in the popular television series “Deadly Force.” This time Kirill had to transform into the leader of a criminal group. A little later he could be seen in the series “Gangster Petersburg: Baron”, as the key character of the Baron. Kirill Lavrov devoted most of his life to the BDT. In 2001, Larov appeared in the television series “Streets of Broken Lanterns 4”, and in 2005 he played Pontius Pilate in “The Master and Margarita”. A little later, he starred in two other TV series – “Cazarosa” and “All the Gold in the World.” The last works before his death were roles in the TV series “Leningrad” and the military drama of the same name.

Death of Kirill Lavrov
Kirill Lavrov acted in films and appeared on stage until his 80th birthday, but in 2006 he felt strangely tired.
The death of his beloved wife and intense work in the theater also played a significant role in this. “When I entered the dressing room, I saw a pale Lavrov and immediately called an ambulance,” said the theater director. Once at the hospital, doctors examined her and diagnosed her with leukemia.
To save the actor's life, a bone marrow transplant from a relative was needed. Without thinking twice, Masha agreed to this desperate act and briefly extended her father’s life. Having grown stronger, he returned to the stage, but soon the disease began to progress. Kirill Lavrov died at the age of 82. On April 27, 2007, the outstanding actor passed away. He was buried in the Leushinsky courtyard, where he was baptized as a child, and buried next to his beloved wife at the Bogoslovsky cemetery.
