Personal life

The actor hardly talks about his personal life - he doesn’t want to mix creativity and family, so the artist’s family photos do not often appear in the media. It is known that Stepin has a daughter and a son growing up. The daughter, like the father, is “sick” of the theater, and the son is only four years old, but he already recognizes the father on the screen.

Actor Sergei Stepin

Relatives speak of Sergei Stepin as a family man who loves to walk in the park with children, reads books in his free time and tries to come to Tula often to visit his mother, sister and nephews.

It is not customary in the family to spend time watching TV together, but sometimes Sergei Vasilyevich and his wife Natalya find time to watch some films or TV series together. The actor admits that he loves good films and says that cinema fosters good taste.

Sergey Stepin now

Now Sergei Stepin remains a sought-after artist. In 2016, the actor played a hotel manager in the melodrama Breakfast in Bed. The film is about a simple maid of a hotel complex, Arina (Marina Konyashkina), who mistakes millionaire Artem (Alexei Demidov) for an employee.

In the next season of Molodezhka, Sergei received the role of the Brown Bears doctor. In 2020, filming of the detective series “Unknown” was completed, in which Stepin played the role of the character Khromov. Now Sergei is filming in the comedy project “President’s Vacation,” where the main role went to parodist Dmitry Grachev.

Sergei Stepin in cinema

Sergei Stepin's film career began with a cameo role in the series “Main Roles” (2002). The plot told the story of the fate of two girls from the provinces who came to conquer the capital - their roles were played by Maria Mironova and Marina Alexandrova. This was followed by minor roles in the popular projects “Turkish March” (a criminal named Crocodile), “Twins” (a worker), “Soldiers”, “Moscow Saga”.

Sergei Stepin in the TV series “Turkish March 3”

Sergei Stepin’s first full-length film was Pavel Chukhrai’s film “A Driver for Vera” - the actor appeared in the frame for just a few seconds, examining the insides of the general’s safe. About this, the main character joked: “2 seconds on the screen and 2 weeks in Sevastopol” (filming took place in Crimea).

Like many actors, Sergei Stepin starred in television commercials, for example, in an IKEA commercial he played a labor teacher who turned a road sign into a frying pan with one blow. During one of the advertising shoots, he met television producer Konstantin Kikichev. It was he who brought Stepin to the TV series “Kadetstvo”, where the actor played the role of bribe-taker Major Murashko in the first two seasons. Stepin claimed that the image of a negative hero was extremely interesting to him.

Sergei Stepin’s first glory was the role of Major Murashko in “Kadetstvo”

The role in the series brought Sergei fame. After the release of the tape, people began to recognize him on the streets, although they knew him exclusively as Murashko. After this role, many directors repeatedly offered Sergei to play bandits and negative characters. The actor himself tried to deviate from the rules established by directors and screenwriters, endowing his characters with human emotions, his own feelings and experiences, turning them from unambiguous villains into very controversial characters. Subsequently, he played in “Ranetki” (he played the school security guard Petya, who adores pies), “Travel Ticket”, “Churchill” and the TV series “Stroybatya”.

Charismatic Sergei Stepin played in many popular Russian TV series

In 2020, Sergei Stepin appeared in the leading role in the new TNT sitcom “CHOP”, which tells about the life of the business and security company “Kedr”, the head of which, Lev Borisovich, was played by Stepin. According to the plot, he has four guards under his command: the jock Fedya (Sergei Tereshchenko), the neurasthenic Tolya (Gennady Maslennikov), the funny man Slava (Denis Buzin) and the newcomer Andrei (Sam Nickel, aka Arthur Galchenko).

In the same year, Stepin appeared on the big screen in the drama Clinch by Sergei Puskepalis, playing one of the guards of the character Maxim Lagashkin.
