Evgeniy Aldonin was born in the Crimean town of Alupka, where he began playing football. At the age of 15, the boy was left without a father - Valery Aldonin died in a car accident.
Later the family moved to Yalta, where there were more opportunities for playing football. It was there that 16-year-old Evgeniy Aldonin was noticed by scouts from Volgograd Rotor.
"Rotor"
2000-2003
Since the 1997 season, Aldonin began to play for Rotor-2, a team that played in the second league, and Georgy Yartsev attracted him to the matches. It was in 2000, and Evgeniy then played 12 matches in the national championship.
The next year was decisive for the football player, when the new Volgograd coach Pavel Gusev finally decided on Evgeni Aldonin’s position – defensive midfielder. Before this, Evgeniy had to play on the edges of midfield, or as an attacking midfielder.
So, starting in 2001, Evgeniy Aldonin became the main player for Rotor. The performance he demonstrated made leading clubs take notice of the young midfielder. Since Rotor had by that time lost its leading position in Russian football, Aldonin’s transition was seen as only a matter of time.
CSKA
2004-2012
Aldonin came to CSKA as an already accomplished football player and immediately took a place in the army club’s supporting zone. And the next season became one of the best in Aldonin’s career, as well as for the entire army club. Then CSKA made a “double” in the domestic arena and became the first Russian club to win a European Cup – the UEFA Cup.
Aldonin played 53 matches during the season, scored 4 goals, one of which was against Spartak Moscow in the All Rus' Derby. The army team then won 3:1, and Evgeniy also scored an assist.

Russian team
2002-2007
Evgeny Aldonin made his debut for the Russian national team in August 2004 in a friendly match with the Swedish national team, and on September 7 he made his debut in an official match. Tragedy of Vera
It was Evgeniy Aldonin, as a father, who had to tell Vera about her mother’s death. At this time, the girl and her class were on a trip to London and knew nothing about the tragic events in the family. Father met Vera at the airport and intended to tell her everything.
As Aldonin himself admitted in subsequent interviews, it was extremely difficult to convey such news to his daughter; he could not find the right words.
