Alisa Mon is a popular Russian singer, whose creative destiny has repeatedly presented her with surprises. Twice the artist soared to the musical Olympus and twice burned all the bridges behind her, starting from scratch.

Childhood and youth
Svetlana Vladimirovna Bezukh, whom the Russian public knows under the pseudonym Alisa Mon, was born on August 15, 1964 in Slyudyanka, Irkutsk region. While studying at school, the girl showed interest in music, but did not receive a musical education. She went in for sports and played for the school basketball team. Svetlana was a social activist, spoke at ceremonial events in the city, defending the honor of her native school No. 4.
In her teens she began composing songs, and for this she mastered playing the piano. To realize her talent, Svetlana created her own musical group. Young musicians mastered the repertoire of Karel Gott and Alla Pugacheva. The young performer tried to imitate the singing style of her idols.

After school, the girl entered the Novosibirsk Music College in the pop singing department. She immediately began working part-time as a restaurant singer. In her second year, Svetlana was invited to join the school’s jazz ensemble, led by A. A. Sultanov, a vocal teacher. But the girl failed to get a diploma. Svetlana left the educational institution ahead of schedule to become a soloist of the Labyrinth group, which was based at the Novosibirsk Philharmonic.

In 1964, in the town of Slyudyanka, which is located in the Irkutsk region, Svetlana Bezukh was born. This is the real name of the artist. Since childhood, I loved to sing songs, and I also developed a love for music. As a teenager, she composed various compositions and studied piano.
At first I repeated recognized musicians. Her favorites were musician Karel Gott from the Czech Republic and Alla Borisovna. In Novosibirsk in 1983, he submits documents to the variety department at the music school. At the same time, she earned money by singing in city restaurants. Two years later, the girl was invited to work in the jazz orchestra at the school. But she never finished her studies.
Alice first appeared in the Morning Mail program in 1987. I started with the song “I Promise.” A year later she released her debut disc, which was called “Take My Heart.” Where the composition “Plantain” was included with many tracks. It becomes Alice’s first hit when she sang it on the “Song 1988” program.
At the festival, Alice received the audience's sympathy prize, love and popularity. The song was heard and loved by fans and this brought fame to Alice. In the late eighties, she toured for the first time with the Labyrinth group. Admirers of creativity also heard new compositions - “Hello and Farewell”, “Long Road”, “Bird in a Cage”.
All of them will be included in the artist’s next collection, “Warm Me.” At the Midnight Sun festival, which opened in Finland in 1991, the artist became a laureate, where she sang songs in a foreign language.
Music
Working in a musical group, led by composer Sergei Muravyov, required maximum effort from Svetlana; there was practically no free time left. The artist made her debut on television in 1987 in “Morning Mail” with the musical composition “I Promise” from the upcoming debut album.

In 1988, Svetlana’s first album, “Take My Heart,” was released, which included the tracks “Farewell,” “Horizon,” and “Hot Rain of Love.” The song “Plantain-Grass” earned the fame of a hit, for which in 1988, at the “Song of the Year”, the lead singer of the group received the audience award. Initially, Sergei Muravyov wanted to give the composition to Ekaterina Semenova, but the famous singer offered to leave the hit to Svetlana after she heard her young colleague perform.

All-Union glory fell on the soloist of “Labyrinth”. The team enters into a contract with to record an album. Radio stations invite Svetlana and Sergei to broadcasts dedicated to their work. During one of the interviews, Svetlana comes up with the pseudonym Alice Mon, a derivative of Mona Lisa. The artist liked the new name so much that she replaced it in her passport.
Artists of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic go on tour around the Soviet Union, during which new songs “Hello and Farewell”, “Bird in a Cage”, “Long Road” are born for Alice Mon’s second solo album “Warm Me”.

In 1991, the singer went international. The girl goes to Europe to the Midnight Sun competition, which took place in Finland, and receives a diploma. To participate in the competition, the singer had to master Finnish and English, songs in which were included in the compulsory program. After this, the musicians managed to work in the USA for a year.
In 1992, Alisa Mon returned to Russia and participated in the international music festival “Step to Parnassus”, where Soso Pavliashvili, the group “Moral Code”, Valery Meladze, and singer Valeria performed that year. But suddenly, after a meteoric rise, Alice Mon decides to make dramatic changes in her creative biography. She returns to her native Slyudyanka, from where she soon moves to Angarsk and gets a job as artistic director at the Energetik Palace of Culture.

The singer does not stop writing music. In her small homeland, Alisa’s hit “Almaz” was born, which one wealthy fan of the singer once heard and suggested releasing a cassette. A happy accident helped Alice get to Moscow with new musical material. A group of Moscow artists came to the Energetik cultural center, where the singer worked at that time, with a concert. Among the performers were people familiar to the singer. The sound engineer, having listened to the cassette with the recorded album “Almaz”, took a copy to the capital.
10 days later, a phone call came with an offer to work together on a video and a full-length disc.

So in 1995, Alice Mon returned to the capital. And in 1996, the song “Almaz” was released at the Soyuz recording studio, which became an all-Russian hit. A year later, a video appeared, which was broadcast on leading Russian TV channels, and a disc of the same name. In the video, the artist appeared in a white fluffy dress with a bare back and a wide-brimmed hat. The girl could afford it: with a height of 169 cm, her weight did not exceed average parameters.
At the turn of the millennium, 3 discs of the singer were released one after another: “A Day Together” (“Blue Airship”, “Strawberry Kiss”, “Snowflake”), “Be Sad with Me” (“Untruth”, “Trouble is not a Problem”, “Here and that’s it”) and “Dance with me” (“Orchid”, “You never know”, “Be mine”). Videos are being shot for two hits - “Blue Airship” and “Become Mine”. Alisa Mon prefers working at private parties, restaurants and nightclubs to big concerts and television appearances.

In 2005, Alisa Mon’s discography was replenished with the album “My Favorite Songs,” which, in addition to new releases, included popular tracks from past years. In the second half of the 2000s, the singer decided to become a student at the Institute of Culture and chose the specialty “mass director”. The artist was ripe for higher education, which she repeatedly tried to obtain in her youth, enrolling in turn at medical, polytechnic and pedagogical institutes and quickly leaving them.
In 2020, Alisa Mon was invited to the program “Fashionable Verdict” as the main character. The singer changed her image under the strict guidance of fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev. Fans of the artist noted that Alisa Mon is in good shape; age-related changes on her face are almost invisible, which can be seen from the photo in the press.

Just sixteen years ago, the whole country was singing lines from Alice Mon’s song: “The Diamond of Your Precious Eyes.” But then Alice suddenly disappeared from TV screens. Many believed that the artist emigrated to America, others were sure that the star had returned to her homeland, Siberia.
However, all this time she lived in Moscow and actively toured. In an exclusive interview, Alisa spoke about new creative successes, a difficult period in her son’s life, and also about why she is not going to get married.

Behind the scenes, the singer was in great demand: it seems that not only the audience, but also her colleagues missed her. Alice did not refuse anyone: she signed autographs, took photographs and admitted: a white streak had come again in her creative life.
“I spent last summer in Moscow, in a frenzy and in traffic jams,” the singer immediately admitted. – Although, again, I got excited. I don’t like to stand in traffic jams, so I prefer to take the metro. Many people are surprised, but I like it. Because traffic jams then remain blood clots in my soul for a long time. Besides, I don't like to be late.
– Alisa, during our last meeting you talked about low-grade fever (an increase in body temperature over a long period of time within the range of 37.5–38°C. – Ed.), which you suddenly developed. Did you find the reason?
– You know, I just stopped measuring it. I realized that the artist always records his temperature at the moment when there is a lull in his work. And when an artist is busy, he doesn’t give a damn. It seems to me that the more talented the artist, the higher the temperature becomes. I'm joking, of course. But I'm used to treating everything with humor. Moreover, recently I have had a wonderful and divine opportunity to forget about it. But I always stand up for health, if there is health, then everything else will happen.
– If we go back to our last meeting, you told us about your son who recently got married. Doesn't he plan to make you a grandmother yet?
- No. But soon I will probably be with my son of marriageable age. Along the way, they get divorced. In any case, this is how things stand today. I don’t want to get involved in their relationship, because during this time my daughter-in-law has become like a family member to me. I realized this especially acutely in the last two weeks. I now know that she is my dear, beloved girl. Practically a daughter, because she calls me mom, and I call her daughter. Very hard!
– Are you trying to reconcile them?
- No, I don’t climb at all. The main thing is to do no harm. Well, helping when asked is probably also sacred. But it’s wrong to take the initiative. I’m also an ancient girl, so I understand perfectly well that it’s better to just be an observer. Although I cannot stay away, because these are really family and friends for me. I don’t know what will come of this and how they will manage with their love, but I hope that everything will be fine. Their love is fatal, that's the point. Although there is nothing to be surprised about: they are both individuals, both are beautiful, both are talented and both... are mine!
– What does “fatal love” mean?
– This is love that is mainly based on sexual relationships. But these sexual relationships are so strong that I see a burning light in the eyes of both Dasha and Seryozha even now, when they are in strong opposition. But they look at each other as if they are about to attack. But for now they keep their distance.
– It's understandable with children. How are things going in your personal life? Are you not going to get married?
- I'm only going to become a grandmother. I want to be the grandmother of my granddaughter. Although I don't know when this will happen. But this is my dream. As God wills, so it will be.
- Wait, have you really given up on your personal life?
– No, it’s just that once upon a time a wedding was significant for me. And now, when next year I turn fifty dollars, it somehow doesn’t matter to me. It seems to me that now the main thing is to do what I have to do in this life. I gave birth to a son, built a house, now I need to grow a tree. And the tree is my work. My tree, I believe, has not yet produced the fruits that I would like. But I hope that everything will change in the near future. This summer I recorded a lot of new songs. I now have a good team, a team of male fans who root for me with all their hearts and want everything to start again for me.
– Wait, what a stagnation if distributors say that Alice Mon has enough performances, regardless of whether she is shown on TV or not!
- It's true. But I had some stagnation in terms of releasing my work to the general public. And now everything seems to be getting better. That tree I was talking about should soon bear fruit. Now it has already produced flowers. New songs will be released soon, I will announce myself to the world and show my new material. I'm looking forward to this event very much. I recently worked in Astrakhan. We were brought to the Philharmonic: we had to perform and immediately fly back.
When the concert began, these were people who were waiting for the buffet to begin. After 15 minutes it was my audience, and thirty minutes later - the people of the new Alice Mon. After the performance, the people who organized the performance invited me to talk for five minutes. They told me: “Alice, your new repertoire is even stronger than the previous one.” Such words are worth a lot! People are amateurs in the good sense of the word! In two weeks I will begin filming the first video; I plan to shoot two videos in total.
– Now many stars make themselves known not only through creativity, but also by participating in all kinds of shows that are so popular on television today. Why are you not seen, for example, skating?
– I am terribly afraid of any injuries and everything connected with them. A year ago, I, a fairly intelligent person, went roller skating with friends. She drove at breakneck speed. But as soon as I stopped, I was immediately taken in a circle, I fell out of the blue and received such an abrasion that I had for a year. But sometimes I need to appear in public in dresses and transparent tights. If it happens that it interferes with my work, then I will not do better. I’d rather find another way to release my energy if I have nowhere to put it.
- Let's talk about psychics. Nowadays programs with their participation are very popular. Have you ever turned to them for help?
- Yes. There was a period in my life that was incomprehensible to me, when I did not know how to live further. I returned from Moscow to my homeland, Siberia. And one day fate confronted me with a girl who was great at telling fortunes. I decided to find out what awaits me in the future. She predicted everything for me: that I would return to Moscow, that I would have my own apartment. When she told me this, I didn’t even believe it. Because I had absolutely no plans to return to Moscow. And you see, that’s how it all turned out. I returned, I got my Almaz, I bought an apartment and went back to work. All these years I have toured tirelessly and recorded new songs. And every time I saw: the audience misses me.
– The public is bored, but do you often find yourself in a bad mood? Are you facing depression?
- Lord, five minutes ago I was depressed, until you came up. I cannot be alone and sad. If I get up and nothing happens around me, I'm already starting to feel depressed. I don’t like it when there is no movement. As soon as an event begins, everything immediately passes. To the point where they called me and got the wrong number. This irritates many people, but it doesn’t bother me at all. At this moment I have neither anger nor irritation! And I think that's right!
Personal life
At the dawn of her musical career, the singer married the guitarist of the Labyrinth group Vasily Marinin, but the marriage soon broke up. Alice's second husband was the team leader, Sergei Muravyov. The age difference between the spouses was 20 years. At first, the relationship developed romantically, the couple dreamed of children and a long life together. Sergei wrote the song “Plantain” for his wife and muse, which became a hit in the late 80s.

In 1989, the couple had a son, who was named after his father. The union of two creative people could not last long, as Sergei behaved despotic towards his wife. The last straw that influenced Alice’s decision to divorce was the ultimatum set by her husband: either they will live as a complete family, or the singer will never see her son Sergei again.
Alice was forced to leave the capital in the early 90s to hide from her husband, who often brutally beat the singer. For many years, the artist did not advertise the reasons for her separation from her producer husband. According to Svetlana, she did this because of her son, who was having a hard time with the conflict situation that arose in the family.

After the divorce, Alice never married again: none of the future contenders for her hand and heart inspired trust. Only once in the artist’s life did a great romance flare up again. The singer’s chosen one was a young man named Mikhail, who turned out to be 14 years younger than her. The relationship ended on Alice’s initiative: she let her beloved go so that he could create a full-fledged family.
Son Sergei followed in the footsteps of his parents and became a musician. He works as a DJ, writes poetry and music, and performs in clubs. Sergei is married to a girl named Daria.
