English actress Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born in Basingstoke (Hampshire), June 10, 1965. Her father was a military man, and her mother was a teacher. Due to the nature of her father’s work, the Hurley family constantly changed their place of residence, and Elizabeth made new acquaintances everywhere. Our heroine has a brother and a sister, but it was Elizabeth who was her father’s favorite. Only Liz’s father allowed her to attend military exercises, since the girl was very close to army order and discipline.

Elizabeth's training took place at a prestigious London school, where she studied dancing and singing. Elizabeth's mother dreamed of a career as a dancer for her daughter, so she got her there. Since Liz hated dancing, her father brought her to school, because she could not refuse him.

Elise went to school with disgust and only dreamed of being expelled - but all her tricks, even taking hormonal pills, from which she gained considerable weight, could not force the teachers to expel the girl.

After receiving a diploma from a studio school, Elizabeth worked for some time in the theater and soon received a role in a musical television film. Elizabeth Hurley's debut on the big screen was the film "Aria", consisting of ten short stories. This role helped the actress gain critical acclaim, after which Elizabeth Hurley's films began to be released with enviable regularity. However, in all subsequent works, Hurley played minor roles.

In 1987, on the set of Rowing with the Wind, Elizabeth met the young and, at that time, little-known actor Hugh Grant, who captivated the actress. As Hurley later admitted: “Hugh was the only one who didn’t try to get under my skirt. He was so reserved and shy that I nicknamed him Lucy.” As soon as Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley moved in together, the actress immediately took Hugh into her own hands, forced him to take care of himself, and convinced him to quit smoking. Grant was happy - finally there would be someone to take care of him.

On the wave of success in her personal life, Hurley tries her hand at Hollywood - the film “Passenger 57” is released there. However, the role in this film did not bring the desired popularity and the disappointed actress returned to England.

Fame came to our heroine, from where she did not expect it at all - Elizabeth Hurley came to the premiere of the film “Four Weddings and a Funeral” in a too provocative dress, sewn from pieces of fabric pinned together with gold pins. The actress was attracted by her shocking personality and, as a result, Liz, who had no experience in the modeling business, was signed to a major contract.

1994 marks the founding date of the movie, co-founded by Grant and Hurley.

The couple Liz and Hugh seemed exemplary, but quite unexpectedly in 1995 a scandal broke out - Hugh Grant was found in his car in the company of a black prostitute. For violating public order, the actor was given two years probation, but what could Liz do? She was generous and forgave her lover. Despite the ups and downs in her personal life, Elise did not forget to act, in particular, during 1996-97, such films by Elizabeth Hurley as “The Cry of the City”, “Samson and Delilah”, “Dangerous Land” were released.

The first work that brought our heroine fame outside of Britain was ex. Charming Vanessa performed by Liz, an excellent duet with Mike Myers, guaranteed Hurley a resounding success. Although there was a lull after this film, Hurley did not lose heart, because she knew that her talent would not be lost.

Indeed, in 2000, the actress plays a charming and resourceful she-devil in the film “Blinded by Desires.” An interesting script, the duet of Brendan Fraser and Hurley were very warmly received by the audience. It was 2000 that put an end to the long (thirteen years) and painful relationship between Elizabeth and Hugh. To move on from the breakup, Liz plunges into work - in 2001, the comedy “Awry” was released, which was enthusiastically received by the public.

2002 brings Liz a new shock - she finds out that she is pregnant from Steve Bing, with whom she just recently broke up. However, Steve said that the father of the child could be anyone. After months of rumors and speculation, Bing took a DNA test confirming his paternity. It is significant that during Elizabeth’s difficult period, Hugh supported her and even became the godfather of a boy named Damien.

Despite all the difficulties in relationships with men, Hurley, like a true professional, immediately after the birth of her son, returned to duty. So, in 2002, the comedy “The Fraudsters” was released; Elizabeth Hurley played a typical Englishwoman whose marriage is under threat. The plot of the film was surprisingly reminiscent of Elizabeth’s personal life, which is apparently why she managed to get into the character perfectly.

After this film, the actress took a vacation to devote herself to her son and personal life.

Liz returned to the big screen in 2011 with the film Wonder Woman. The same year, the actress got engaged to cricketer Shane Warne. True, this relationship did not last long and ended after two years. As Liz admits: “I can’t just turn off love, of course, I still love Shane, but now we are only connected by friendship. I see his kids a lot and Shane visits Damien.”

In addition to acting in films, Elizabeth is engaged in design, in particular, she is the owner of her own women's clothing brand. Hurley is also a breast cancer campaigner. “Today, the number of women who have been cured of breast cancer is constantly growing. It has been clinically proven that cancer diagnosed at an early stage is curable in 98% of cases,” Hurley never tires of reminding women.

Liz also admits: “Meeting women who have overcome cancer inspires me to fight this disease. Many of those who have overcome cancer come to every talk I give, and shaking their hands makes me feel a powerful surge of strength.”

All that remains is to follow the example of the actress, who finds time not only for work and family, but also for charity.

Although now Elizabeth Hurley does not act as actively as in the best years of her career, for many viewers she remains one of the most talented, feminine and sophisticated actresses.

Plus 20 kilograms

“Will and desire.
The main thing is that you need to know what you want, go straight to your goal,” Elise often repeated her father’s words, “you need to organize a miracle yourself!” And one fine moment Elizabeth woke up with “charming” forms. The girl gained 20 kilograms and grew 20 centimeters. This happened because Hurley took hormonal pills for six months. But even despite such dramatic changes in her body, Elizabeth was able to obtain a degree from London Studio Center College in theater and dance. At the London Studio Centre, Elizabeth worked for some time in the theatre. Because of this, she was able to land a TV role in an original, vibrant musical film. In 1987, Hurley made her debut in Aria, a 10-story film produced by Don Boyd. He thus celebrated the 300th anniversary of the art of opera and invited ten famous directors for their author's interpretation of arias from famous operas. Elise perfectly coped with the role of Marietta in the novel by Bruce Bearsford, which was based on an aria from the opera “The Dead City” by Erich Korngold.

Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant. First love

After her debut role, the actress was noticed by critics who appreciated her talent and performance. This was followed by interesting supporting works. In 1987 in the film Inspector Morse, a year later in the Spanish film Rowing with the Wind, and in 1990 in the film Death Cruise.

Hurley's Hollywood debut occurred in the film Passenger 57. Despite the fairly significant popularity of the film, the role of Sabrina did not become a landmark for the actress and did not bring attention from directors and producers. After such disappointment, Elizabeth decided to return to England.
