Childhood and family

Alexey was born into an artistic family - his father, Valentin Morozov, Honored Artist of Russia, puppet theater actor. The actor’s mother is far from art; she works as an economist, but always supports her husband and son in their endeavors. It is not surprising that Alexey spent his entire childhood behind the scenes of the theater, and in 1987, his father brought his second-grader son to audition for the film-play “Journey of the Blue Arrow.” Director Valery Sarukhanov was looking for an actor to play the main role of the poor boy Francesco, who finds himself in the land of living toys. At first, nothing worked for Alyosha during the audition (she couldn’t cry on command), but as a result, everything ended successfully and the younger Morozov was shown on TV for the first time.

Valentin Nikolaevich Morozov, father of actor Alexei Morozov

The impressions of working on the theater stage were not forgotten. By the age of 14, Alexei had firmly decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. In conversations with his son, Valentin Morozov more than once tried to find out the firmness of his son’s intentions, to make sure that he understood the complexity of the chosen path. Alexey invariably maintained that he wanted to engage in acting “for the soul,” and then his parents realized that their son could not be dissuaded.

While still a schoolboy, Alyosha entered the children's theater studio “Imagine”, which worked at Leningrad television. Wonderful teachers worked with the children: Maxim Demchenko and Leonid Sidorenko. During the entrance exams to the studio, the boy had to show a dying swan. Alexey did not succeed in a touching dance, but still the masters recognized acting talent in the teenager, and he was accepted. Together with other children, Morozov participated in the creation of television programs about the poetry of the Silver Age - teenagers read poems by Gumilyov and Akhmatova. Every day Alyosha realized that the path he had chosen was the right one, that this was exactly what he wanted to do.

Immediately after graduating from school, Morozov took the documents to the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts. The entrance tests were successful, and in September the young man began his studies under the guidance of V.M. Filshtinsky, choosing the specialty “Theater and Film Actor”. Despite the fact that the choice of educational institution was deliberate, at the beginning of his studies Alexey often missed lectures, did not complete teachers’ assignments, and even tried to quit his studies. Having matured, the actor blamed his early age for such sloppiness, and became convinced that it is necessary to comprehend the basics of acting at least from the age of 18.
