Chloe Grace Moretz is a talented American actress who is known even to those who are not very actively interested in cinema. Chloe's career began with a remake of a classic horror film, but she soon began starring in films by famous directors. In addition, she is a successful model who collaborates with several brands at once. It is Chloe who is the face of the MaxMara fashion house; such brands as Aéropostale and Coach are associated with her.
Brooklyn Beckham
2014-2018
Chloe's first serious long-term relationship was with the son of the famous Beckham couple, Brooklyn.
It is also noteworthy that Brooklyn introduced his girlfriend to his parents. Moretz only mentioned Brooklyn in a positive way:
“My boyfriend is very supportive. On bad days, he remembers to remind me that he likes me in a dress on the red carpet and in sweatpants at home.”
The young couple had many joint official appearances. For example, at the Teen Choice Awards, the premieres of Chloe's films. In 2016, there were references to difficulties in relationships between young people. As Moretz told Teen Vogue:
“Even if we just go to the grocery store, there will be 15 paparazzi around us. Trying to be in our own little world is extremely difficult.”
At the same time, the couple broke up and reunited before Beckham moved to study in the United States. In 2017, all the tabloids started talking about how Brooklyn began spending a lot of time with Madison Beer. The singer herself stated without hesitation:
“I've known Brooklyn for many years. We got closer as we got older. It seems like we're falling in love with each other."
Fortunately, the scandal quickly subsided and a joint photo of the Moretz-Beckham couple with romantic declarations of love for each other reappeared on social networks.
But in April 2018, Brooklyn was again caught by the paparazzi while kissing model Lexi Wood. Chloe handled the news of the new betrayal with dignity and took off the ring given by Beckham. In a recent interview, Moretz said:
“I’ve had a hard year and I’m not going to hide it.”

Chloe Grace Moretz: childhood
The future star was born in Atlanta in February 1997. A few years later, her mother and father decided to move to New York. Chloë Grace Moretz was born into a large family; her parents already had four sons. The actress is not one of the celebrities whose life path was predetermined almost from the moment of birth. Her parents worked in the medical field, her father was a successful plastic surgeon, her mother worked as a nurse.
How did it happen that Chloë Grace Moretz decided to become an actress and not continue her parents’ work? Her older brother Trevor, who was her authority almost from birth, became an example for the girl. The boy became a student at a school that taught the art of drama, dreaming of one day becoming a movie star. His wish also did not come true, but five-year-old Chloe, who was helping her brother learn lines, seriously became interested in making a career in the world of cinema.

The couple did not officially confirm their relationship. But paparazzi photographs indicate that the girls are connected by more than just friendship. In the spring, the couple vacationed in Mexico, and in July the girls were spotted shopping in London.
Chloë Moretz: “I’m 99% just an ordinary teenager”
EG: Very good, but as for the passion for fashionable clothes at this age. I hope this has not passed you by? Do you have any preferences in style, trends, brands? Chloe: Believe it or not, I don’t have any preferences or any particular style. In this regard, I am a completely uninteresting object, even boring, I would say. For all sorts of events and outings, I don’t need to strain myself - a stylist thinks through everything for me, choosing dresses, jewelry, shoes and accessories. I may disagree, of course, but they usually manage to convince me. I like to wear ripped jeans and worn-out T-shirts with stupid slogans (laughs). What is this if not a typical teenage attitude to clothes? In my opinion, the reason for my reluctance to dress up especially is precisely because, due to my line of work, I have to dress up very often. My hair has to be styled, I have to wear makeup on my face, I have to have uncomfortable shoes on my feet... All this just creates a need for simplicity, convenience and ease in everyday life. At home I usually wear simple sweatpants, loose, light, not restricting movement, old jeans, T-shirts, sneakers or sneakers. I practically don’t use makeup unless I have to, except maybe a little lip balm and mascara if I remember (laughs). Of course, I take care of my hair – there’s no escape from that. But mostly in my free time, I prefer an easy and comfortable style to absolutely no style. As for brands, I can’t say that I give preference to any one name, I buy what is convenient for me, depending on where I am. I don’t go to boutiques specifically in search of something special. Well, my only preference is probably natural fabrics, that’s all.
EG: Tell me, what if suddenly someone asks you: how to become an actress, find a way into the acting profession, the film business? What's your answer? Chloe: The way I see it is that first it's good to understand what you really want. Why do you want to become an actress, what is important to you? Do you love this profession to the point of oblivion, self-sacrifice, or do you just want fame and money? If you dream of fame, beautiful outfits, red carpet appearances, big earnings, houses, cars and so on, I would advise you to think carefully about whether it is worth it. I will tell you that without love for the profession you can get all this, but this business is cruel and merciless to those who are looking only for pleasure, it will digest you and spit you out, and you will be left with a broken heart. You can make good money in other professions and find fame too. In the film business, you can only survive and succeed if you are truly passionate about what you do. I will say what Steven Soderbergh once told me: “The only advice I can give you is to choose a project to work on that you would like to do even for free.” The same can be said to someone who asks me: “If you agree to work even without payment, the main thing is that you have a role that you could only dream of, then it’s yours! If not, then find yourself another profession. You can become a movie star in the process, but if that’s your goal, then I can sympathize with you - the business will grind you down and leave you empty.”
Personal life[ | ]
Two of Chloe's four brothers are gay. In September 2013, Chloe, who actively communicates with her fans on Twitter, said that she was not going to put up with her fans' homophobia. Addressing them in an interview with Seventeen Magazine, the actress said:
I will remove you from friends and put you on a blacklist if you write anything bad about my brothers or about gays in general... Mom always taught us to value blood ties. We may be the strangest family in the world, but that's who we are.
— Chloe Moretz[23]
Since childhood, Moretz has shown a wide interest in the world of fashion and adheres to her own, characteristic style. She has taken part in a large number of photo shoots for magazines, including such major ones as Flaunt, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Jalouse, Marie Claire, Interview, Elle, Love Magazine, Crash Magazine, InStyle and many others. 09.23.2014Zaira Ozova A few years ago, Chloë Grace Moretz admitted that she dreams of working with Johnny Depp and Denzel Washington. What would have forever remained a sweet dream for any other girl turned out to be a matter of time for her: Depp became Moretz’s partner in “Dark Shadows,” and Washington saves her heroine from the Russian mafia in “The Great Equalizer.” But fame, as THR learned, did not go to the head of the young actress, and her interests remained the same - reading historical books and playing games on the PlayStation.
This material was published in the September issue
"The Hollywood Reporter - Russian edition."
The career of a 17-year-old girl from Atlanta has gained such momentum that it becomes scary for her. From August to October, as many as four films with her participation will appear in Russian distribution: “Sils Maria”
,
If I Stay
,
Baby
and
The Great Equalizer
.
From so many projects you can “burn out at work,” which often happens to unprepared youngsters. “I don’t spend as much time on set as it might seem from the outside,” Chloë Grace Moretz seemed to reassure us on the set of the film “Kick-Ass 2.
” — In fact, I act quite rarely, and my team and I are very careful in choosing roles. My childhood was not at all sacrificed on the altar of art.”
The actress went to school until the third grade, although she already appeared on the screen: she played her first role at the age of seven in the TV series “The Protector.”
.
But after participating in The Amityville Horror,
she was no longer allowed to remain an ordinary child: 10-year-old Chloe switched to home schooling and tutoring.
“I just do the assignments and send them to school. My classmates probably hate me - they have to go there every day!” — the girl explains, not without gloating. She loves history, but is especially interested in the 19th century - the abolition of slavery and the American Civil War. President Abraham Lincoln is among her personal idols.
Moretz, by the way, has enough time not only for filming and studying the school curriculum. She calls herself a complete gamer and, at any opportunity, grabs the PlayStation 3 controller. As punishment for the fact that Chloe played Call of Duty ( a popular military shooter) all day long. - THR
), her mother once took her phone away for several days.
“I had to read a book for studying, but I couldn’t tear myself away from the console. Mom, of course, couldn’t ignore this... But in general, girls my age are punished, say, for reading the “Sex” section in Cosmo, but not for loving games!”
The actress basically behaves like a very atypical starlet. Yes, in real life she doesn’t swear every word, doesn’t throw knives and doesn’t wear a purple wig like her heroine Hit Girl from the “Kick-Ass”
. But Moretz also doesn’t look like a choir girl. Before her film career took off, she seriously dreamed of becoming a football player. Or a pilot - the actress loves helicopters, airplanes and other aircraft. In general, any profession that boys usually dream about would suit her.
Chloe was inspired to act by one of her four older brothers, Trevor, who at the age of 15 entered a New York theater school. He brought home the lines, and his 5-year-old sister helped memorize the text - she read the lines for other characters. The academically savvy Trevor still teaches his sister acting, although she has noticeably surpassed her mentor in professional achievements. But her brother manages to supervise films with her participation - in the film “Kick-Ass 2”
, for example, he acted as an executive producer along with
Mark Millar and Claudia Schiffer .
Parents, health workers, supported their daughter in all her endeavors. Her father instilled in her a love for action films, her mother personally read the scripts and advised her to take on the role of Hit Girl without hesitation. “For a long time I couldn’t believe she was serious,” Moretz recalls. “It seemed to me that she was delusional or just making fun of me.” But, you know, if your own mother wants to see you kill people on screen and swear, your life is good.”
Chloe is well aware that the main thing at this stage of her career is to carefully approach the choice of roles and not grab at just anything. to take part in the re-film adaptation of
Stephen King's "Carrie" : for the sake of the role of an outcast girl with telekinetic abilities, she agreed to a lot of auditions and to any conditions of the producers and director. Difficulties only spur her on: in her work, what she loves most is to transform into a character with whom she has nothing in common.
By the age of 17, she had played dozens of bright roles, but it was the role of the daring Hit Girl that became Chloe’s calling card. The 11-year-old superheroine, capable of ripping open the belly of a huge big man, caused a wave of criticism and indignation: the creators were accused of sexualizing the child’s image, as well as the fact that the child participates in hellishly bloody scenes and speaks exclusively rudely. At the beginning of the second part, Hit Girl tried to lead a normal teenage life, but circumstances forced her to put on her favorite costume again.
Moretz's real life is reflected in the heroine's transformation. Outwardly, the actress tries to look like a typical screen star, but when the camera turns off and the door closes, she, not caring about everything, returns to her boyish image and enjoys playing shooting games. “I’m equal parts tomboy and princess,” says Chloe. “I love wearing dresses and putting on makeup, but growing up with four brothers certainly left its mark: if you wanted to somehow participate in everyone’s fun, you had to play the PlayStation and football.”
It turns out that with the heroine of the movie “Kick-Ass”
the actress has a lot in common, which cannot be said about her character from
The Great Equalizer
.
Antoine Fuqua's new film, she played a young moth for whom Denzel Washington's decided to stand up. But a very similar role as a teenage prostitute in Taxi Driver
brought 14-year-old
Jodie Foster her first Oscar nomination.
Maybe Moretz will succeed too? "The Great Leveler"
(
The Equalizer
) / USA, 2014, 131 min. Director: Antoine Fuqua / Cast: Denzel Washington, Chloë Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas, Den Bilzerian, Vladimir Kulich, Bill Pullman, Melissa Leo. In theaters September 25 (WDSSPR)
