Biography

Alexander Baluev was born into a military family. The Baluevs lived on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, then moved to Smolenka. Alexander's father was very strict and disciplined, demanding unquestioning submission and obedience from family members. He had high hopes for his son, dreaming that he would choose a career as an officer.

And my mother loved the theater very much, and often went to performances with her son. Then Alexander realized that he wanted to be involved in this mysterious, bright and extraordinary life. After finishing school, Baluev applied to the Shchukin School, but failed the exams. Then he got a job as a lighting assistant at Mosfilm. Alexander was confident in his abilities and a year later became a student at the Moscow Art Theater School. He studied very well and established himself well among teachers, and after graduation he easily found work in the theater.

Alexander Baluev and Maria Urbanovskaya

His private life was previously connected with the popular Polish journalist Maria Urbanowska. The lovers lived together for about ten years. It is noteworthy that the woman was initially the common-law wife of Alexander Baluev, and only then became his legal wife. Alexander Baluev’s child was born in 2003. As you know, the actor became the father of a wonderful girl, whom he and his wife decided to name Maria Anna.

In 2013, there were media reports that the couple had ended their marriage. This news shocked all the actor’s fans. As you know, Baluev was previously considered a real family man and a wonderful husband, so absolutely no one expected the sudden separation of the spouses.

It was difficult for Alexander Baluev’s wife to get used to her husband’s constant absence. The woman not only looked after the house on her own, but also built the house herself, since Baluev did not understand anything about this. Most likely, the family was overwhelmed by everyday life. After the separation, Maria refused to divide the property and was not against her husband living in the built house. At the same time, without Baluev’s ex-wife, the mansion fell into disrepair.

Theater

Unlike most graduates of theater universities, he was even given a choice, and Baluev gave preference to the Russian Army Theater, where for six years he played many memorable roles in the plays: “Robin Hood’s Arrow”, “Clock Without Hands”, “Lady with Camellias” ", "Trees die while standing." In 1986, the actor went to work at the Moscow Ermolova Theater, where he performed leading roles in such performances as “The Second Year of Freedom,” “Snow, Near the Prison,” and “Caligula.” It was after these works that he became known in theater circles as a talented and multifaceted artist.

Over time, when Baluev began to act a lot in films, he went into enterprise. According to him, cooperation with only one theater and director enslaves the artist, limiting his freedom of activity, which negatively affects the development of talent. Therefore, the enterprise became an ideal solution, so he got the opportunity to play in theatrical productions and act in big films.

Movie

Great success in cinema came to Alexander Baluev in the nineties. Thanks to his courageous and bright appearance, as well as his unique charisma, he became known to a wide range of viewers from popular films, the most famous of which was the film “Bless the Woman” directed by Stanislav Govorukhin. The film takes place in a small seaside village in the pre-war years. A very young girl, Vera, falls madly in love with a visiting military man, the commander of the Red Army. She is not yet eighteen, and he is already over thirty. He already had a wife, whom he divorced just as clearly and quickly, military style, as he proposed to Verochka. She goes with him to his place of duty. Through the hardships of army life and the hard times of war, she carries her feelings towards her middle-aged husband, giving herself completely. Having played a despotic, sometimes cruel officer, Baluev, nevertheless, received popular recognition.

The film “Kandahar” brought Alexander no less fame. Spectacular action film directed by Andrei Kavun, based on real events that occurred in Afghanistan in 1995. The Russian IL-76 aircraft, carrying a crew of five people, is carrying out a dangerous mission, transporting a fair amount of illegal ammunition under the guise of humanitarian aid. By order of Islamist fanatics, the plane is forced to make an immediate landing at the airfield of the Afghan city of Kandahar. For 378 endless days, five Russian pilots are captured by the Taliban, not knowing when this hell will finally end. The crew, led by the hero Baluev, makes the only possible decision that will save their honor and life - to hijack their own plane.

In the film “In August 1944,” Alexander Baluev appears only in the climax scene, almost at the end of the film, and plays a resident of fascist intelligence, the traitor Mishchenko. Baluev’s role is short, just a few minutes, but he played it, as always, very brightly and expressively. Although, according to the actor, he was not allowed to fully reveal the character of his hero.

In the first film adaptation of Vasily Grossman's novel Life and Fate, Alexander Baluev played political worker Nikolai Krymov, a man who suffered difficult trials.

Another great success of Baluev can be called the role of Peter the Great in the film based on the novel by Daniil Granin “Evenings with Peter the Great.” This is a story about a great reformer, but a lonely and sick man.

Hollywood

Alexander Baluev was one of the first in Russia to collaborate with Hollywood, starring in several successful blockbusters. He played in the action films “The Peacemaker” and “Deep Impact,” which grossed big box office worldwide. He starred with George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and others.

Personal life

The artist prefers to leave his personal life behind the scenes. It is known that he is currently divorced from his wife Maria Urbanowska, who in the past was a successful Polish journalist. They met sixteen years ago in Koktebel and have not been separated since then. After a ten-year relationship, Alexander and Maria got married in 2003. In the same year their daughter Maria Anna was born. Ten years later the marriage broke up. The press wrote that Maria could not stand her husband’s strict schedule, his constant absence from home and bohemian life. She returned to her homeland, Warsaw. Baluev loves his daughter very much and, as soon as he has free time, he immediately flies to Poland to see her.

The actor spoke about some details of his personal life in the program “The Fate of a Man with Boris Korchevnikov.”

New woman Alexandra Balueva

After a divorce from his Polish wife, the famous artist became close to the mother of composer Gleb Matveychuk

After a divorce from his Polish wife, the famous artist became close to Gleb Matveychuk’s mother

Just a year ago, Alexander BALUEV said in an interview that he was “one hundred percent monogamous,” and suddenly he divorced his wife, with whom he had lived for 20 years. (We were the first to write about this. - details) Maria left for her homeland in Warsaw with her 11-year-old daughter, and Alexander is now a “Sunday dad.” And I still somehow can’t believe that this union has broken up. It has become so firmly ingrained in the consciousness of millions that Baluev is an ideal family man, and, as you know, they don’t leave good husbands. To find out how the wonderful artist lives now, we went to a village near Moscow on Rublevo-Uspenskoye Highway, where he has a country house.

The Baluevs real estate outside the city three years before the birth of their daughter.

— I don’t understand anything about construction. “My wife did everything,” the actor said in an interview. — Masha was the most important foreman at this construction site. This is her sweat, blood and tears. Of course, we discussed everything together, but my voice is only advisory. Later the house was expanded. As a result, it has doubled in size and now has more than 300 square meters. I hope our house will last us a long time. The rare journalists who were lucky enough to visit the Baluevs described how lovingly their nest and the surrounding area were furnished. For example, the paths were framed with neat logs - recesses were hollowed out in them and flowers were planted. Or a tub in the living room, adapted for a flowerpot. Apparently, the owners have golden hands. But it turned out that Maria knew how to embroider, knit openwork tablecloths, and work with a drill. Alexander was proud of his wife.

The actor built a garage for his white Cadillac right outside the gates

Photos of the “hacienda” were published in glossy magazines: a beautiful wooden mansion was buried in greenery and flowers on a small but carefully thought-out plot. The garden was divided into two zones: the front zone - with flower beds from the front of the house (as is customary in Poland) and the master zone (behind) - for family relaxation.

— What I really like about the Poles is their attitude towards their own land. How lovingly they look after their gardens, how they know how to organize in the house that bourgeois - in the good sense of the word - way of life, which gives a person a real sense of security and peace, Baluev shared with the journalist. Did the artist really decide to exchange peace and security for something other? Maybe there is already a new mistress in his house? We decided to check it out.

Over 20 years of marriage, Alexander and Maria URBANOVSKAYA became family

Broken lock

On rare weekends, Alexander likes to walk around the village. He will go to one shop, then to another. The villagers treat their star neighbor with reverence.

“Alexander Nikolaevich is so gorgeous and sexy,” the store saleswoman, Taisiya, rolled her eyes. “All our women sigh for him.” Two years ago, when Zhukov was shown, the whole village was on edge. Baluev played Marshal of Victory himself! We often saw him in shorts, riding his bike through the forest. And yesterday I was about to close the store after midnight, and, as luck would have it, the lock stuck. I move the key back and forth, but the infection won’t come out. There is no one on the street, the phone is dead, charging at home. At least cry... I see Alexander Nikolaevich driving up in his white car. He saw me upset. “Don’t worry, Tasya,” he says, “we’ll fix everything now.” Indeed, he conjured some magic on the lock, tugged something there, closed the door and pulled out the key. And then he gave me a lift home! Lately, the actor has been visiting the village on short visits. In the summer, you need to have time to relax in warmer climes, visit your daughter in Warsaw, and also filming, tours, film festivals...

When we arrived at the star’s site, there were no signs of life behind the solid fence, but the neighbors said that Alexander was now at home. Unfortunately, the actor refused to communicate with us, saying he was very busy.

I had to ask local residents about Baluev’s relationship with his ex-wife. It turned out that she had not been seen in these parts for two years. People heard: Maria is not against her ex-husband living here, and they are not going to divide the property yet. We saw Alexander briefly when the actor went out to the store. He looked tired and worried. What we managed to see through the open gate was amazing: no flowers, overgrown paths in the garden, desolation all around. The house looked uninhabited. Where's the dog? Everyone knows that Baluev has a Labrador. In photographs, the actor often posed with his pet named Grosh and said that he got this red-haired miracle with a funny face so that his daughter Marusya would grow up with animals. Previously, locals often saw Alexander walking Grosh. But no one has seen the Labrador for a long time, although sad barking from behind the fence, they say, is heard.

BALUEV often stops by local stores to stock up on bottled water and chat with saleswomen

Territory of Passion

The other day, Alexander visited two film forums at once: at the Orlyonok children's camp and in Vladivostok. Everywhere he was constantly accompanied by makeup artist Olga Matveychuk , mother of actor and composer Gleb Matveychuk , who recently celebrated her 58th birthday. In “Orlyonok” there was talk around Baluev that he was having an affair with the make-up artist, although in public this was not noticeable: the couple tried not to get into the camera lenses. On the Black Sea coast, Alexander was not feeling well, and Olga, like a caring mother, looked after him, making sure that the actor took his medications on time and did not violate the regime.

In the courtyard of the artist’s estate there are pine trees and blue spruce trees

It is known that Olga Matveychuk is officially married to a 66-year-old film artist, but he constantly disappears on set. Now, for example, Alim Ivanovich is also on a film expedition - on “Quiet Don” by Sergei Ursulyak .

As you know, Baluev recently performed in an unusual role - he became the director of the musical play “Territory of Passion” and played the main role in it.
Anastasia Makeeva also play leading roles in this project . And the executive producer... is Olga Matveychuk. The whole family, so to speak, is assembled. Olga has been working with Baluev for 12 years now. She did his makeup on the set of many films: “Beyond the Wolves”, “Death of the Empire”, “Life and Fate”, “Two Winters and Three Summers”... Now, they say, the couple has left for the Baltic states.
