Despite being very busy at school and sports, Potapenko was fond of writing songs and poetry. Since his school years, Potap began to become more and more interested in music. From the age of 13, he wrote his first lyrics and tried to record his own compositions. Parents did not take their son's hobbies seriously.

After school, he became a student at the University of Physical Education and Sports, where, in parallel with his studies, he performed in KVN with the university team. After graduation, he could have worked as a physical education teacher or a water polo and swimming coach, but at the insistence of his father, he continued his studies to get a more serious education. This time, Alexey entered the National Economic University and received a qualification - Master of Economic Sciences, Entrepreneurship and Auditing.

An acquaintance of Potap recommended recording a single with Nastya Kamenskikh. Back then, no one imagined that a one-time duet to create one song would turn into an incredibly successful musical project. But the producer’s subtle instinct told Potap that he shouldn’t stop at a one-time performance. From the very beginning, he began producing a duet, for which he writes songs and shoots videos. Personal life of Potap

Irina Gorova is Alexei’s wife. She is a financier by profession and works as the commercial director of their family business, MOZGI Entertainment. This is not the first marriage for Irina. From her first marriage she has a daughter, whom she is raising with Potap.

In 2008, Irina gave birth to a son. In the Potapenko family there is a custom of calling boys by the names Alexey or Andrey. The couple named their son Andrei. Now Alexey considers himself absolutely happy.
