Biography
Roman Kurtsyn is considered a sex symbol of the STS channel. It was not only his varied filmography that gave the actor such a high-profile status. His photos on Instagram with a naked torso and coveted six-pack abs evoke languid sighs from girls and envy from guys. Kurtsyn himself says that he uses social networks to generate exclusively positive emotions, and that negative ones should not be made public.
It seems to me that cinema should carry something bright. I would like to see films made that make you leave the cinema and want to live.
Personal life of the actor
This section of the article will be of interest to many viewers. Roman Kurtsyn, whose personal life is of interest to fans of his talent, is happily married. His wife, Anna Nazarova, is also an actress. They met as students and have been together ever since, although separation is common for a creative family. Spouses perceive business trips and filming in different cities as a production necessity.
Despite such a busy life, young people began to think about adding to their family. According to Roman, he had little contact with small children and thought that he did not know how to do this. But after filming the film “Shooting Mountains,” I realized that I was ready to experience real warm fatherly feelings. He will be incredibly happy to have a baby in his family.
Your child makes you think about your whole life. Thoughts about him can stop you from taking rash risks. The presence of a baby in the family helps parents become better people and give up some negative qualities.
In 2012, the young couple had a baby. Roman Kurtsyn does not widely advertise photos with his wife and child. He probably considers this part of his life the most dear and deeply personal.
Childhood and youth
Roman comes from Kostroma, from a simple family: his father served in the police, and his mother worked as a secretary at a chemical defense school. The future artist’s work was inspired by the famous film adaptation of “The Three Musketeers” with Mikhail Boyarsky in the title role. Until the 10th grade, he was not interested in studies; they wanted to expel Kurtsyn from school for constant absenteeism. Then my mother set a strict condition: if she sees at least one C in her son’s certificate, he will not see a theater university. By graduation, the young man had completed his curriculum to enter the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute.

At the university, Roman was also on the list of candidates for expulsion and is still grateful to the course leader Alexander Kuzin for his patience.
The creative path of Anna Nazarova and meeting her future husband
Anna, unlike her husband, grew up as a calm child. She dreamed of becoming an actress, so after graduating from school she entered the Yaroslavl Theater Institute. It was there that fate brought her together with her future husband. Before meeting Roman, the girl had already starred in several TV series: “The Right to Happiness” and “Everything is Fair.”
The acquaintance was not trivial - both played in the same play. The chemistry was immediate. Roman realized that such beauty and grace of a girl no longer existed in the world. He began courting and began a relationship that has lasted for more than 12 years.
Movies
In his 4th year of study, the student went to the casting of the historical and patriotic series “The Path to Mangazeya,” which later changed its name to “Silver.” Initially, Roman auditioned for a supporting role, but got one of the main ones. During filming, he mastered stunt tricks, which was facilitated by physical training. Now, with a height of 178 cm, his weight fluctuates between 78-80 kg, and in terms of muscle definition, Kurtsyn can compete with professional bodybuilders.

Actor Roman Kurtsyn
Then the guy appeared as a metropolitan heartthrob in the TV series “Champion” and a rural musician in the melodrama “Bon Voyage.” The director of the series “Sword” believed that Roman was not suitable for the role, he had to come to the casting 9 times and eventually achieve his goal - to play the sniper Konstantin Orlov.
Kurtsyn’s first full-length film was the psychological drama “Thirst,” which received a diploma for the best male ensemble of young artists. The actor himself received prizes for his role as Genka in this film at the Amur Autumn, Provincial Russia and We Won Together festivals, and was also recognized at the international film festival in Honfleur. “Shooting Mountains” and “Poor Relatives” became hits. After Alexey Pimanov’s militant “Crimea,” the guy was blacklisted by the Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”—he is prohibited from entering the territory of this country.

Roman Kurtsyn and Polina Maksimova
Subsequently, the series became the main projects in Roman’s cinematic biography. Among his notable works are “Ship” and “Leningrad 46”, “While the Fern is Blooming” and “Yellow Eye of the Tiger”, “Hotel Eleon” and “I’m Losing Weight”.
Kirill Pletnev’s comedy “Seven Dinners” with Polina Maksimova is an experience in filming “nudity”, and Kurtsyn calls the role of an orphanage from “Children of the Steppe” one of the most difficult. The guy, a sports fan, had to lose 7 kg. Fortunately, such sacrifices were not required for the sitcom “Fitness” - the transformation took place thanks to plastic makeup.

Childhood
Roman Kurtsyn was born and raised in Kostroma. His parents had nothing to do with art: his mother worked as a secretary, his father as a policeman. Roman's desire to become an actor arose in his childhood, after watching the famous film "D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers." Then he firmly decided that he would definitely shine on the screen!
The actor himself says that his main childhood memories are associated with school, girls and arm wrestling. He took up arm wrestling in high school and at the age of 17 became the Russian champion in this sport. But until some time things were not going well with Roman’s studies. It got to the point that in the 10th grade they even wanted to expel him for truancy. And then his mother told him: “If you study poorly, then you will not be accepted into the theater institute.” This became the main motivator for Roman. He “came to his senses”, and only fours and fives appeared in his certificate...
Study in Yaroslavl
After graduating from school, Roman Kurtsyn entered the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute. His studies there also did not proceed smoothly. As Roman admits, they wanted to expel him three times! But he is still grateful and appreciative of his course master, Alexander Kuzin.
In his fourth year, Roman Kurtsyn signed his first contract - with the Yekaterinburg Film Studio. Soon he was invited to audition for the 12-episode film “The Way to Mangazeya” (the film was released under the title “Silver”). Moreover, at first it was assumed that Roman would play a supporting role, but then it was decided to entrust him with the main role. During filming, the young actor rode a lot, performed stunts, participated in battle scenes, and fenced. In short, the dream of becoming like D'Artagnan began to come true...
Versatile actor
In 2007, Roman Kurtsyn graduated from the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute. Even during his studies, he was often told that he was too handsome for serious work. Therefore, Roman was very worried that behind his bright appearance the directors would not see the inner depth. However, his first film works dispelled his worries. In 2008, three films with his participation were released - and all the roles turned out to be diverse.
In the already mentioned historical series “Silver” directed by Yuri Volkogon, Roman Kurtsyn played the role of Alexei, a guy from a noble family, very reserved in character, in the melodrama by Alexander Barshak “Happy Voyage” he played a small role of the village guitarist Ivan, and in the series “Champion” his hero became a womanizer Denis Bekhterev, the conqueror of women, the most eligible bachelor in Moscow. The actor was initially approved for a cameo role, which required two or three days of filming. But after Roman talked with the producer of the project, he was entrusted with one of the main roles...
"Sword"
Roman Kurtsyn also achieved recognition thanks to the performances of the Yaroslavl Stunt Theater, of which he is one of the founders. In addition to the already mentioned arm wrestling, hand-to-hand combat, kick-boxing and yoga help him maintain the necessary shape.
To some extent, it was thanks to his work as a stuntman that Roman Kurtsyn managed to get into the series “Sword”. The chief artistic director of the film called him and asked him to call stuntmen for auditions, mentioning that a blond, strong build with blue eyes was required. “So it’s me!” - thought Roman. He sent his photos and received a response from the director that he was not that type. At that time the director did not know who he was facing. Being a stubborn and purposeful person by nature, Roman is used to always achieving his goals. He came to audition five times, did acrobatic sketches, showed stretching and striking techniques, until he was finally approved for the role of sniper Konstantin Orlov.
But it’s one thing to be approved for a role, and another thing is how it will be played. Roman played in such a way that later both the producer and the director recognized him as the best in the series. For this role (which the actor himself calls his favorite), he was awarded his first award - the FSB Prize.
According to Roman Kurtsyn, this work also had a downside. He got to play a man with a rather strange ideology. Having transferred this image to himself, Roman then had a very difficult time getting out of the role, simply “falling out” of life for a while.
Film roles 2010-12
The years 2010-12 were very active creatively for Roman Kurtsyn. The films in which he took part were different both in genre and, frankly speaking, in quality. But that’s the actor’s lot. For example, the historical adventure film “Yaroslav. A Thousand Years Ago,” in which Roman played the role of Stavko, was deservedly criticized by viewers brought up on high-quality historical cinema. The series “Cop in Law” (Vadim Rubakin) and the action movie “Slove. Straight to the heart" (police captain Ivan Lapin).
Viewers' assessments of the series "Doctor Tyrsa" were quite contradictory. The creators of this project, having borrowed the idea from the highly rated American TV series House, moved the action to Russia, adapting the plot to our realities. In Doctor Tyrsa, Roman Kurtsyn played an aerialist who breaks down while falling from under the circus dome. The role is psychological and difficult, but overall the actor coped with it.
The most interesting work of Roman Kurtsyn during this period, of course, is his role in the four-part film “Children of the Steppe.” The 26-year-old actor had to get used to the image of a 17-year-old orphanage boy, Vadim Tarasov. According to Roman himself, this is one of his most difficult roles: “It does not correspond to my psychophysics. The story here is a little different than in the previous films where I starred.” The actor had to work on himself not only internally, but also externally: for this role, Roman specifically lost 7 kilograms.
Theater or cinema?
Roman Kurtsyn also has theatrical works to his credit. At different times he played in the plays: “A Very Simple Story” (Alexey, the Neighbor’s Son), “Passion Under the Elms” (Ebin), “Carousel According to Mr. Freud” (Young Man), “Return to Elm Street” (Freddie). However, for now he prefers cinema to the stage. In an interview, Roman admitted: “I am a film actor. First of all, I don't want to go to a bad theater. Although there are many more good theater actors. Secondly, I love cinema more.” Time will tell what will happen next.
Personal life
Roman Kurtsyn is married to actress Anna Nazarova. They live together in Yaroslavl. According to Roman, this is where his home, his friends are, and he only comes to the capital to work.
Roman Kurtsyn is an art director and co-founder of Yarfilm LLC.

Roman Kurtsyn and his wife Anna Nazarova
In 2019, Kurtsyn appeared as an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the adventure film “Five Minutes of Silence. Return". His team of brave rescuers included Igor Lifanov, Artur Vakha, and Evgenia Dmitrieva. The third part of the film “Five Minutes of Silence” is currently in production. New Horizons". In addition, the artist is involved in the family saga “Two Shores”, which plays out the Shakespearean plot about warring clans, in the sports film “Prospect of Defense” about a professional boxer who makes money in fights without rules.
The war drama “Balkan Frontier” is based on real events that occurred in the mid-90s in Yugoslavia. The prototype of the commander of the special forces detachment was the former head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. Roman played the role of a special forces soldier defending the airport.
On the set of the adventure film “Pain Threshold” about representatives of the golden youth who found themselves in an extreme situation, Kurtsyn, out of habit, was eager to perform stunts on his own. But the directors took care of the artists - the work was going on in the Altai mountains, and the situation was dangerous even for professionals.

Roman Kurtsyn during the filming process
In the 2nd season of “Fitness”, the main character continues to rapidly lose weight. Sofya Zaika, who plays Asya, also got rid of the extra 20 kg, although not without difficulty. When the scales froze in one place, the girl turned for help, of course, to Roman Kurtsyn.
The actor also played a handsome athletic man, a rival of Alexander Revva, in the sitcom by Marius Weisberg “Grandmother of Easy Virtue. Elderly Avengers." In the film, Roman got the singer Glukoza as his partner and went on skates for the first time, since in the story his hero is a former NHL star.
I have a lot of genres, but comedy is the most difficult of them. Making the viewer laugh and smile is not so easy. It is necessary for him to enter into the state and circumstances of the hero, and at the same time, as we say, the actor cannot play up or act out, he needs to be organic. I want to believe that I can do this.
Personal life
In 1995, our hero met a pretty girl, Ekaterina. Kuritsyn beautifully and persistently looked after her: he presented her with luxurious bouquets, took her to restaurants and invited her on boat trips. As a result, Sasha managed to win Katya’s heart. In 1999, the couple went to the USA. There the lovers formalized their relationship.
For 15 years, Alexander Kuritsyn’s wife was his support and support. But at some point the couple realized that they had lost interest in each other. Their relationship was no longer like that of a man and a woman, but like that of a brother and sister. In 2010, Sasha and Katya officially filed for divorce. They equally divided the property acquired during the marriage.
Kuritsyn was saved from depression caused by divorce by the television project “Dancing with the Stars.” It was there that he met the charming Oksana Sidorenko. This girl is a ballroom dancing champion. Many of us know her for her role as the stripper Polina in the TV series “Fizruk” (TNT). Oksana provided Alexander with moral support during such a difficult period for him.
After this, rumors appeared that they began a whirlwind romance. This information has never been confirmed. It soon became known that Oksana had a fiancé - a London businessman named Edward.
Currently, the heart of the famous actor and bodybuilder is free. He, like any man, dreams of a strong family and a caring wife.
