Alexander Semchev spoke about how he lost 100 kilograms

BIOGRAPHY

Childhood

Alexander Semchev comes from the Tver region, and his relatives live there to this day.
The artist studied his ancestry and found out a lot of interesting things. He says: “I know that Peter the Great sent my distant ancestor to Germany to learn how to build canals, my great-grandfather lived in St. Petersburg, held a high position in the shipping company, he had his own house on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Gorokhovaya Street. After the revolution, the whole family fled to Vyshny Volochek. That's where I was born." The actor's childhood was not easy. Mom raised her and her older sister alone, with grandmother helping. The father disappeared from the family's life when the boy was only a year old. And yet, there were many happy moments. The women did their best to create comfort and take care of Sasha. “I can’t say that I was deprived of love,” the actor recalls.

The boy had very different fantasies about the future: he either dreamed of driving a garbage truck, or he wanted to become a doctor, like his mother. And after his first visit to the temple, he decided to become a priest - he was so amazed by the Easter service. “Then it dawned on me: what attracts me to church is not religion, but the theatricality of the action! I looked at the church service like a director or an actor,” says Alexander.

But the profession of an actor was still very far away. To help his family, from the age of 14 Semchev worked in the summer at a factory and was an apprentice turner. Then he transported food to a boarding school, cleaned wells, and worked as an orderly in a hospital.

Artist

The passion for the stage went in parallel. In fourth grade, Alexander played Baba Yaga in the school play “The Magic Tooth.” Then he was made responsible for amateur artistic activities, and in high school Semchev led discos - first school, and then regional. An artistic guy with a trendy haircut has become a local celebrity.

Then there was the army. Semchev recalls: “I served at Baikonur as a radiotelegraph operator. There was no cosmic romance in my service, don’t think about it, the monotonous reception of telephone messages - I quickly got bored with it, and I remembered about amateur artistic activities. I was taken into the army ensemble, where I was an entertainer, read poetry, sang songs about the Motherland and played the big drum. Then I finally realized that I wanted to be an artist.”

Returning to Vyshny Volochek, Semchev got a job at the local drama theater as a supply manager. But very soon he found himself on stage, in the crowd. And then his fellow countryman Leonid Kolosov, a graduate of the Shchukin School, came to stage his graduation performance and entrusted Alexander with the main role. The work made an impression on the capital’s teachers, and Semchev was advised to go to Moscow to study.

Moscow

They were accepted into the famous “Pike” immediately, even without sketches. But after a couple of months the student was expelled for violating creative discipline. “For some reason I decided that I had reached the limit of my dreams and relaxed with joy - in the hostel they were constantly celebrating some birthdays, exams... Constant sleepless nights: wine, girls. And the next morning I don’t have the strength to wake up, so I usually skipped the first couple,” says Semchev.

I had to change my profession again - I worked at night as a bartender, then through some artist acquaintances I got a job in an enterprise, ironing suits. It brought me back to earth. By spring, Semchev had prepared a program and re-entered the school. In 1997, he successfully completed V. Nikolaenko’s course at VTU. B.V. Shchukin.

Alexander Semchev: biography, childhood

The hero of this article was born in the Tver region, or more precisely, in Vyshny Volochyok. This happened in April 1969. The biography of Alexander Semchev indicates that he was born into a family far from the world of cinema and theater.

However, even during his school years, Alexander began to stand out from the crowd of his peers with his artistic talent. The boy showed hilarious pantomimes and made children and adults laugh. The child studied in a drama club and was the permanent star of school plays. Most often he was assigned the roles of fairy-tale characters. Once Alexander even played Baba Yaga.

Little Semchev was also interested in music. As a teenager, he even performed as a DJ at school discos. However, interest in dramatic art eventually won out.

THEATER

Getting a job in the theater turned out to be not so easy. They didn’t take the Vakhtangov Theater to the students’ hometown of “Pike.” Semchev planned to go to the Satire Theater, but it didn’t work out there either. Not holding out hope, the young artist came to play along with his classmate at a screening at the Moscow Art Theater. A.P. Chekhov. And in the evening there was a call - Alexander Semchev was accepted into one of the best theaters in the country.

Moscow Art Theater

One of the first works was in the play “Marriage” based on N. Gogol. Then there were roles in the plays “Amadeus”, “Duck Hunt”, “Hamlet in Hot Sauce”, “Tartuffe”, “The White Guard” and many others. Throughout his years of service, the artist has been closely involved in productions.

In 2012, Alexander Semchev took part in the play “The Pickwick Club” based on Charles Dickens. It is admitted that the role of Samuel Pickwick was not easy; the character’s speech, full of beautiful words and pompous phrases, was especially embarrassing. But gradually the actor found the key to the role.

“Pickwick is an eccentric, but not naive, that’s a delusion. This is a normal person who considers creation, not destruction, to be his idea. He says: “I have studied people for a long time, I know their nature.” But, leaving his room, he encounters other customs, unfamiliar phenomena. He just looks at the world a little differently. And, of course, I have met such people. What has changed since those days? Women deceive us in the same way, people also give money to scammers and get married. Everything repeats itself,” says Alexander about his character.

Today Alexander Semchev plays in the plays “An Ideal Husband. Comedy", "Macbeth", "The Event" and others.

Theater p/r O. Tabakov

Alexander Semchev can also be seen on the stage of “Tabakerka”. In the play “Fear and Poverty of the Third Empire” based on B. Brecht, he plays a judge. Although the author of the play opposed his school to Stanislavsky’s system, at the Tabakov Theater the play was staged according to all the laws of psychological theater.

“There is no method of alienation. We sat, sorted it out, and thought about what kind of people they were. I play a person who, unfortunately, is dependent on the system, on the government that came to Germany at that time,” said Semchev. According to the actor, this was perhaps his first truly tragic role.

Another of his heroes, Arnolf from Molière’s “School for Wives,” turned out to be so close to the artist that at first he was in tears during rehearsals.

“The plot is clear: a person is left alone in the end. That is, all his worries and expenses – internal, material – turned out to be nothing,” explains Alexander Semchev.

MOVIE

Alexander Semchev began acting in films in the late nineties. These were small roles in the films “Wedding”, “Border. Taiga Novel”, “Turetsky’s March”. At the same time, Polish director V. Dziki invited the actor to play the main role in his film “The First Million”. Semchev played Pikey, one of three friends who, since childhood, dream of getting out of poverty and accidentally get involved in a conflict with the mafia.

Then there were the main roles in the films “Under the North Star”, “The History of the Spring Conscription”, “Little Goat in Milk”, “Collective Farm Entertainment”.

Semchev made a very memorable Governor Emelyanov in the comedy “Election Day”. According to the actor, he liked playing. “This is power. Certain people go into power. They are probably going to achieve certain goals. Power means enrichment and respect, especially since our people love veneration of rank. It was interesting for me to exist there,” Alexander shared his impressions.

An equally striking image is the unlucky Emmik, the son of Aunt Pesi in the series “Liquidation”. It is interesting that in the script the character was designated as small and thin, but director Sergei Ursulyak saw Semchev in this role. And he made the right decision - Aunt Pesya performed by Svetlana Kryuchkova and her son

They look great in a duet.

The actor says about his hero: “He’s kind of helpless. You can’t even call him a big child—he’s just asexual.” He himself is not at all like that, but the transformation is all the more interesting.

By the way, according to the original plan, Emmik was supposed to die. The scene was filmed, but was abandoned during editing. Partly, the director did this so that in the event of a continuation, this hero could appear on the screen again.

In 2020, “The Last Hero” was released, an adventure film based on Russian fairy tales. According to the plot, an ordinary guy Ivan finds himself from modern Moscow to the fantastic country of Belogorye. Heroes of Russian fairy tales live in this parallel world, magic is an integral part of everyday life, and controversial issues are resolved by battle with heroic swords. Alexander Semchev brilliantly played Miracle Yudo -

Movies

A cinematic biography of Alexander Semchev started in the early 2000s. The actor appeared on screen in the Polish film “The First Million”. The recommendation for Alexander to take on this role was given by Krzysztof Zanussi himself.

This film became a springboard, after which the actor began to regularly receive offers to act in films. True, more often these turned out to be secondary roles, but with the help of such a bright and colorful artist, even episodic characters became almost on par with the main ones.

The actor received even more attention to himself after filming a commercial for the “Three Fat Men” beer. In 2000, he was named "Advertising Personality of the Year". But the artist himself was not happy with this kind of fame. In an interview, Alexander Semchev complained that after the advertising, directors rushed to invite the famous actor to their films, but these roles turned out to be passable and of the same type.

Dmitry Shevchenko and Alexander Semchev in the film “12 Chairs”

Indeed, the actor has a large number of characters with a negative image. Drunkards, corrupt officials and policemen. Nevertheless, these roles made Alexander Semchev a star. The films “Railway Romance”, “Baby Goat in Milk”, “12 Chairs”, “Collective Farm Entertainment”, in which the actor performed the famous song “Forest Deer”, “Plot” - these are just a few names from a number of popular films, some of which became favorite films of Russian viewers.

Alexander Semchev in the TV series “Plot”

In 2006, the actor made his debut as a director. But Semchev’s comedy called “Girls” was not very successful, so it was his first and to date his last directorial work.

The artist concentrated on working in cinema and every year gave his fans several projects with his participation. “Enchanted Site”, “Liquidation”, “Election Day”, “Our Russia. Eggs of Destiny - all these films brought Semchev considerable popularity.

Alexander Semchev in the film “The Last Hero”

In the comedy fairy tale, the actor played the role of Miracle Yud. The film is based on traditional Russian folklore. The main character is a deceiver posing as a psychic, Ivan (Viktor Khorinyak). The guy is accidentally transported to the fairy-tale world of Belogorye, where the alien is mistaken for the famous warrior and son of Ilya Muromets.

A TELEVISION

In the early 2000s, Alexander Semchev worked on television. With his participation, the programs “Know Ours!” were released. and “The Business of the Owner,” and the audience especially remembered the children’s program “The Investigation is Conducted by Kolobkov.”

In 2014, the actor became the hero of the project “I’m Losing Weight!” Semchev began to rapidly gain weight after the army, when he was studying at the theater. Most likely, the young man has a metabolic disorder. Every year he gained 10 kg. As a result, the actor acquired the figure with which the audience recognized him.

“I understand that my plumpness is my currency, where else will you find a good actor of my age with my build?” - Semchev said then. He received his first roles in the theater partly thanks to his build - he was invited to replace Vyacheslav Nevinny. And then the famous advertising image appeared. But heavy weight causes serious harm to the artist’s health. During the TV project, he got rid of 18 kg, and this is just the beginning.

Actor career

Semchev connected his life choice with the theater immediately after the army. At first it was a local drama theater in his hometown. He quickly won the love of theater managers and audiences. Having turned into a leading actor, one had to think about education. But everything went as usual. Changes appeared in the biography of the future famous artist with the arrival of teachers from the Moscow School named after Shchukin to Alexander’s homeland. The actor was invited to study at a theater university. Semchev gave his consent. Colleagues saw us off, smiling skeptically: there’s such a competition, where are you going?!

Alexander Semchev became a student the first time, taking a course with Evgeniy Simonov. The actor began playing on the stage of Sovremennik while studying at the school. When he received his diploma, he served the Satyricon Theater for a short time. Oleg Efremov, having seen Semchev’s performance, was able to attract him with his theater. The actor moved to the Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov. And again, thanks to his charm and skill, he is one of the leading Moscow Art Theater artists. The performances performed by Alexander Lvovich were varied in genre. Soon his talented performance began to be awarded with awards. He was awarded the first Seagull Award for the best comedic role.

ONLINE READINGS

In 2020, Alexander Semchev took part in the multimedia cultural project “Chekhov is alive”. He read the story “The History of a Trading Enterprise.”

In the same year, the actor participated in the project “War and Peace. We are reading a novel." Over the course of four days, the entire novel by Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy was read live, broadcast on the state television channels “Russia K”, “Russia 1”, radio station “Mayak”, as well as on the Internet. Alexander Semchev read a fragment of the third volume of the novel.

FLINT FESTIVAL

In 2020, Alexander Semchev headed the jury of the First International Festival of Amateur and Folk Theaters “Flint#Springboard”.

“We don’t have actors, actresses, professional readers,” said Semchev. — We have people participating, as they say, from the public. From 9.00 to 16.00 this little man is busy with his family, work, and chores. And after 18.00 he goes to his House of Culture, theater club and begins to create. That is, our festival was created for people for whom acting is not a profession, but a call of the soul, an outlet, a hobby. And we conduct it so that a person gets away from everyday life, from routine, from evil bosses and immerses himself in what is close to him in spirit and likes it.”

PERSONAL LIFE

The charming artist has always enjoyed success with women. While still in Vyshny Volochyok, he married a girl named Yulia, whom he met at a dance. The couple had a son, Kirill, but the marriage did not last long. Relationships in the family did not work out, Semchev left for Moscow, and his young wife filed for divorce.

Then the actor met bank employee Marina Gridetskaya. They lived together for three years, but still broke up. “Every woman needs attention. And over the years, she wants children and stability more and more,” said Alexander. But then the aspiring artist could not offer his companion a calm and measured life.

In 2004, while filming, Alexander met costume designer Lyudmila Voronova. A romance began, and after some time the lovers secretly got married in a narrow circle of friends.

In 2005, the couple had a son, Fedor. The birth of a boy awakened paternal feelings in the actor. “The feeling of fatherhood is a thrill, I’ll tell you! I want to correspond, not deceive him, take care of him, cherish him. He's probably my spoiled boyfriend. I always want to buy Fedora toys and dress him up smartly. I want him to succeed,” Semchev shared with reporters.

And yet, the family idyll did not work out - Alexander and Lyudmila divorced. But the actor continues to communicate with his youngest son. “I see Fedya all the time, we have mutual love,” he says. “And I don’t consider myself a Sunday dad; it’s not the child’s fault that we broke up with his mother.” As soon as I have free time, I go to my son. The boy goes to sambo, drawing, and studies at an Orthodox gymnasium. I think about him all the time and worry about him.”

Semchev helped his eldest son Kirill get an education - the young man studied in St. Petersburg to become a manager.

On the eve of his 45th birthday, the actor said that he was not alone again, he had a beloved woman. She is a doctor by profession. Alexander admits that he has not felt such a kind attitude towards himself for a long time, but does not reveal any more details.

Illegitimate son

In 2014, the actor found himself at the center of a scandal. It turned out that Alexander Semchev has an illegitimate son, Pavel, about whom he was silent for 23 years. In 1990, Semchev met medical school student Tatyana at a dance, and after a while she became pregnant. The relationship did not work out, and Semchev saw his son only once, when he was 14 years old.

The actor is reluctant to comment on this situation. “I was not aware of my family then. Now I’m just beginning to understand what a lack of a father is. If it were possible to turn back time, I would not have done this,” he told correspondents of the “Live Broadcast” program. But Semchev never agreed to meet his son. He firmly intends to leave his personal life behind the scenes.

Alexander Semchev was hospitalized in serious condition after a heart attack

Alexander Semchev

Media reports that Alexander Semchev was hospitalized in serious condition after a heart attack. The artist became ill in his own home; his blood pressure dropped sharply. The famous actor complained of pain in the chest area. When the ambulance arrived, the doctors immediately began resuscitation measures and tried to help the star for an hour, but they were not able to immediately restore the heart rhythm disorder.

Now the 50-year-old actor was urgently taken to one of the Moscow hospitals, where he was handed over to doctors.

Let us remind you that in the spring the movie actor appeared in front of the public having lost a lot of weight. He admitted that he lost 100 kilograms: doctors believe that heart problems could arise due to heavy stress during weight loss.

This is what the actor looks like now

Let us remind you that in April the advertising hero celebrated his half-century anniversary. It was on his 50th birthday that Alexander decided to change his life and worked on himself for a whole year. Experts suggested that the actor had undergone a gastric resection, but Semchev hastened to assure the public that he did not resort to medical procedures, but only changed his diet.

“Reduce your portions, drink water to boost your metabolism, and alternate chicken breast with turkey and fish. Well, of course, it's not just chicken breast, there are also raw vegetables. Mix in equal proportions and see the effect,” said Alexander.

In addition, the actor counted calories using apps on his phone. The artist admitted that it was not easy: he broke down several times and had to start all over again, but still the desire to improve his health and get rid of the hated kilograms prevailed.

“The main thing is motivation, what you are doing it for. That's all. One day you need to get angry with yourself! And don’t pay attention to all the psychologist’s passes. No one will do this except you,” the actor emphasized.

Semchev has changed noticeably

The actor warns all overweight people: to lose the hated kilograms carefully and under the supervision of competent specialists who will point out your mistakes and give you the right recommendations.

Note that after the transformation, the actor began to complain that he was no longer invited to filming, because now he does not fit the role of a charming fat man, so the artist went on various talk shows, where he had to lie about his affair with his son’s girlfriend and other details of his personal life.

The thinner Alexander Semchev was no longer invited to filming

In the next broadcast, Semchev admitted that his heart is free, but he is ready to meet with the opposite sex. Alexander told reporters that appearance is not the main thing for him in a woman. According to him, he is attracted by intelligence, taste, neat legs, arms and bikini area. Now the actor is looking, first of all, for a companion-friend, because he wants to be looked after.

INTERVIEW

About theater and cinema:

“Both cinema and advertising, of course, work more for popularity. Ordinary people on the street recognize me because they saw me on TV. But I still feel a little out of place in the cinema. But the theater is a completely different matter! It depends only on me what mood the viewer will leave with. No editing, no special effects - just you and the audience. This is where the real adrenaline is! And my favorite theater role is Afanasy Ivanovich in “Old World Landowners.”

Acting observations:

“Believe me, I observe society. And I draw conclusions, but this is not subject to publicity. At my age, I already know what is good and what is bad, I’m not a youth. I have something to contribute when creating a role. Thank God, I can still be surprised sometimes. But as you get older, you look at the world differently, and grievances develop into grief.”

About the perfect day off:

“Come to the dacha. Put on a sweatshirt and sit on the bench. Then go to the lake, take a walk in the forest. At such moments it is as if you return to yourself. You restore balance."

About happiness:

“Happiness is flashes, short flashes. But I don’t understand any kind of great or lasting happiness. No, I don't know what happiness is. For me, profession is more important. I feel calmer there. I want another round of popularity and luck. When everything is good, wings appear and you exist differently.”

Based on materials from the sites mxat.ru, tvkultura.ru, m24.ru, aif.ru, wday.ru, kino-teatr.ru, eg.ru, etver.ru, iz.ru, kp.ru, television programs “Live” , “Let's come in large numbers”, “My hero”, “Let them talk.” "I am losing weight".

Semchev spoke about his diet

Is it really all about the chicken breast, which, according to media reports, the artist “leaned” on? But everyone who has tried to lose weight this way knows: it is impossible to withstand tasteless chicken fillet for more than 2 weeks...

“Well, of course, it’s not just about the chicken breast. There is no secret. Reduce portions, drink water to enhance metabolism, and alternate chicken breast with turkey, fish... There are also raw vegetables, mix in equal proportions, and you will see the effect,” Semchev assured.

To understand how many calories enter the body with food, Alexander Lvovich downloaded a special application. It is enough to enter the number of grams of the product that a person is going to eat to immediately get the result - the number of calories is calculated automatically.

Probably, in the process of losing weight, Semchev had difficult moments, like everyone else. We asked the actor about this, and he replied:

“The main thing is motivation, why you are doing it, that’s all. One day you need to get angry with yourself! And don’t pay attention to all the psychologist’s passes. No one will do this except you."
