Childhood and youth

Alexander was born in Moscow. Nevsky is a pseudonym. At school, Sasha Kuritsyn (the actor’s real name) was called nothing more than “wet chicken.” And it’s not just the last name: the lanky and thin guy couldn’t do even one pull-up on the horizontal bar. At 15 years old, the teenager was almost 2 meters tall and weighed only 60 kg. Out of pity, the physical education teacher gave him a C in the subject.

Alexander Nevsky in his youth

Sasha was an excellent student, read the classics, dreamed of entering the Institute of Management and read poetry to girls. But the fair sex did not like the refined romantic, and the boys mocked him. The guy grew up without a father, and his mother didn’t know how to teach her son to fight back against bullies. It was decided to enroll the young man in a boxing school, but the training was not successful until Sasha saw a photograph of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a magazine.

The tanned and muscular American actor impressed Alexander so much that he decided to become the same. Sasha traded his boxing gloves along with his textbooks for the gym.

The guy was so carried away by training that he failed the entrance exams to the institute. The next year, Alexander entered, but his priority remained sport. He participated in all kinds of fitness and bodybuilding competitions, seizing on the slightest opportunity to express himself.

After 10 years of training, not a trace remained of the Sasha who was teased as a “wet chicken.” The bodybuilder’s weight was 140 kg with a height of 198 cm. Judging by the photo, he was significantly different from his rivals, whose weight, as a rule, did not exceed 120 kg.

The athlete began to be invited to radio and television, and the media started talking about the fact that Arnie’s competitor had appeared in Russia. Then Kuritsyn decided to change his dissonant surname to a noble one - Nevsky.

In 1997, the bodybuilder wrote his first book, “How to become Schwarzenegger in Russia.” For the next 2 years, he tried his hand at television: he was a co-author and TV presenter of the programs “Good Morning”, “Party Zone” and “Under 16 and Over”. In addition, his series of bodybuilding video tutorials were broadcast on air. The Russian hero also made his film debut, playing a cameo role in Eldar Ryazanov’s film “Quiet Whirlpools.”

Ugly "chicken"

Sasha Kuritsyn (this is the actor’s real name) was born in Moscow into an intelligent family. Dad taught economics, and mother worked as an engineer.

Soon, only the mother was involved in raising the boy, since the father left the family. He studied well at school, read a lot, and recited poetry.

He studied at a music school, studying the technique of playing the cello. But for such merits, neither girls loved Sasha, nor did boys take him into their circle.

By the age of fifteen, Kuritsyn stood two meters tall, although he weighed only 60 kilograms. In physical education lessons, he was the laughing stock of the whole class, and only out of pity for the boy, the teacher gave him a “C” for the quarter. Sasha was called a “wet chicken,” and anyone could give him a kick.

Mom didn’t know how to teach her son masculinity and the ability to fight back, until one of her friends advised her to enroll her son in a boxing sports section. The guy went there reluctantly, and he didn’t like the training . It was much more fun to spend time reading books from magazines.

In one of the magazines, Alexander saw a photograph of the tanned and muscular Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The guy was so impressed by the celebrity’s appearance that he decided to become a “jock” himself.

The boxing gloves ended up in the closet, and Sasha went to the gym.

Movies

At the same time, American producers came to Russia in search of new talents and promised Alexander Nevsky leading roles in films with Chuck Norris, Van Damme, Schwarzenegger, as well as a dizzying career and millions in fees.

Torso of Alexander Nevsky

The prospect of living next door to an idol and working with him on the same site did not leave the Russian bodybuilder indifferent. In September 1999, Alexander Nevsky and his wife left to conquer Hollywood.

In America, the Russian hero was introduced to the stars, but there was no talk of filming. The producers disappeared like dust, and the signed cooperation contract had no legal force. Nevsky did not want to return to his homeland with dashed hopes and began to conquer America: he studied language at the University of California and acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

Alexander Nevsky in Hollywood

The acquaintance with Hollywood actors was not in vain - Jean-Claude Van Damme invited Nevsky to star in the film “The Secret of the Sect.” Millions dream of such an offer, but Alexander refused, since he fundamentally does not play the “Russian mafia.”

Only 2 years later, the actor received an invitation to play as an extra in Walter Hill’s film “Untouchable.” This became the starting point in Nevsky’s American career. He later received roles in the films Da Vinci's Fast and the Furious and Moscow Heat.

Since 2006, Nevsky has continued to participate in script writing, directing and producing. So, in 2009, the film “Murder in Vegas” was released, where the Russian athlete played the main role and acted as a producer. However, the story of a Russian detective investigating an American murder did not impress either viewers or critics.

In 2010, Nevsky announced that he was invited to the 60th Mr. Universe bodybuilding championship. The news of the Russian bodybuilder’s victory at prestigious competitions spread throughout the world. And Alexander himself was prouder than ever, because Arnold Schwarzenegger himself had once won this competition.

However, later the media announced that Nevsky had mixed up the names of the championships. He became a participant in the International Bodybuilding Federation "Universe" tournament (WBBF), and the competition in which Arnie won was held under the auspices of the NABBA Universe Championships.

In 2010, Alexander again took on the role of a Russian hero in an American film. But his journalist role in the drama “Somewhere” was received coldly by critics, just like his previous roles.

Alexander Nevsky and Vladimir Gruzdev

In 2011, Nevsky’s biography took an unexpected turn - the bodybuilder became a Russian public figure. Alexander was an adviser to the Tula governor Vladimir Gruzdev on sports issues. The athlete told reporters that he does not plan to become a governor himself, but would like to develop sports not only in Tula, but throughout the country.

Since 2012, the actor began maintaining an account on Twitter, where he not only promotes his films, but also encourages subscribers to play sports and believe in their dreams. The athlete also has a page on Instagram, where most of the posts are dedicated to Nevsky’s professional achievements.

Books by Alexander Nevsky

He continues to delight fans with new books. Among them is the publication “Bodybuilding and Other Secrets of Success,” in which the author shares tips on how to achieve a sculpted torso in 3 months of training. The athlete’s bibliography includes the works “Kickboxer”, “Rocking Chair for Children”, “Great Encyclopedia of Fitness”, as well as publications for the fair sex – “All Problem Areas: Exercises for Women” and “Ideal Body for Women”.

The new political and social weight did not prevent Alexander Nevsky from continuing to work on his acting career, and in 2014 he presented the film “Black Rose” to the general public, in which he acted as director, producer and leading actor.

The plot was about the murder of girls, and the story was unraveled by a brilliant detective from Russia. Reviews for the film were, to put it mildly, negative. Those who watched the film were blown away by the quality of the filming and special effects, the poor acting and the predictable script.

One of Nevsky’s last works in cinema was the action movie Showdown in Manila. Filming took place in the Philippines, and actor Dmitry Dyuzhev became Nevsky’s partner on the set. The film was released in February 2020.

Back in July 2015, filming of the action comedy film “Maximum Impact,” a joint Russian-American production, began in Moscow. Alexander Nevsky got a positive role: he plays an FSB officer. Eric Roberts, Tom Arnold and Danny Trejo worked on the film with the actor. The Russian premiere of the action film took place in 2017.

In 2018, the action film received 3 awards at the International Independent Adventure Film Festival Action on Film in the categories “Best Adventure Film of the Year”, “Best Stunt Scene” and “Best Special Effects”.

Despite the small list of works in Nevsky’s filmography, he continues to act and takes his place under the Hollywood sun, strengthening his position every year. He is a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and owns the Hollywood Storm film production company, which is based in Beverly Hills.

Since the mid-2000s, Nevsky has been a member of the HFPA Film Academy and a member of the Golden Globe jury. Alexander participates in the selection of films for the shortlist.

Jack of all trades

Lifting barbells, dumbbells and other weights, Kuritsyn abandoned his studies to such an extent that he could not pass the entrance exams . A second attempt a year later was successful, and he became a student at the State Academy of Management.

But sport was Alexander’s No. 1 activity. As a student, he participated in various bodybuilding competitions, trying to attract attention to his person.

There really was something to see. All he had left from the “wet chicken” was his height (Alexander Kuritsyn’s height is 198 cm), and the bodybuilder’s weight was 140 kilograms. In the sports world they started talking about the appearance of the Russian Arnie , and television representatives began to invite Alexander to their programs.

In the wake of his first popularity, Sasha changed his “teasing” surname to a more noble one and became Alexander Nevsky.

On television, he was a co-host of the programs “Party Zone”, “Good Morning”, “Under 16 and Over”. Recorded a series of bodybuilding lessons that were broadcast on air.

In 1997, he published his first book with the promising title “How to become Schwarzenegger in Russia.” Currently, he is the author of seven books on bodybuilding and fitness.

Having been overseas, he showed considerable journalistic potential , publishing his conversations with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal, Mickey Rourke, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ray Bradbury, Kirk Douglas, and Steve Martin on the pages of Russian newspapers and magazines.

He tried his hand at politics - in 2011 he was an adviser to the governor of the Tula region on sports issues.

Personal life

The athlete met his first wife Ekaterina in his youth, as a student. The girl supported Alexander in every possible way and helped him adapt to America. But after 15 years of marriage, their family broke up. Nevsky does not like to be frank about his personal life; only in one interview did he admit that he unsuccessfully tried to save the relationship, and during the divorce he left his wife all the property that she claimed.

Alexander Nevsky with his ex-wife

The couple had no children, and Nevsky told reporters that this was for the best: firstly, the couple had a very busy life, and they would not have been able to devote enough time to raising children, and secondly, the children would most likely have kept a marriage that has already become obsolete, forcing two strangers to continue living together.

According to journalists, after the divorce, the athlete was seen more than once accompanied by various beautiful girls from the world of show business. In 2010, Alexander Nevsky built a relationship with the star of the series “Fizruk”, ballroom dancing champion Oksana Sidorenko. The couple met on the project “Dancing with the Stars”. Nevsky did not hide the affair and told the media that he was planning a wedding.

In 2012, the bodybuilder was spotted with another bride, model Maria Guryeva. The girl not only appears in advertising and photo shoots for fashion magazines, but also hosts the program “Simply Maria” in the format of interviews with invited guests. Nevsky and Guryeva met when the athlete became a guest of the show. Maria accompanies her chosen one at official events, and he calls her the girl of his dreams.

Alexander Nevsky spends most of his time in the USA. The actor purchased a spacious apartment in the prestigious area of Beverly Hills. Explaining his choice in an interview, the athlete noted that he never aspired to become the owner of a mansion with a swimming pool. Near his home there is an elite cigar club, gyms and restaurants.

Alexander Nevsky enjoys hiking

Nevsky enjoys hiking – walking in the mountains of California. A man appreciates this type of recreation for the opportunity to combine business with pleasure; hiking in the mountains helps strengthen the cardiovascular system and gives positive emotions from meeting nature.

Three wives of a hero

The personal life of Alexander Nevsky is as turbulent as he himself. He met his first wife during his student days. The girl helped him in all his endeavors and supported him in difficult times of the American period.

They lived together for 15 years, but in the end the family broke up. In an interview, he said that he fought for this relationship to the end. After the divorce, he left his ex-wife all the property that was due to her. There were no children in this marriage.

In 2010, reports appeared in the media that Nevsky was dating dancer and actress Oksana Sidorenko and that things were supposedly heading towards a wedding. Alexander did not hide this romance and shared plans for what the upcoming celebration would be like.

But since 2012, Nevsky has had a more than friendly relationship with a completely different girl - model and journalist Maria Guryeva.

They met on the set of the program “Prostomaria” (Gurieva’s television project). In the company of Maria Guryeva, the actor appears at all events , calling his new passion the girl of his dreams. But the lovers are in no hurry to officially register their relationship.

Alexander successfully promotes his projects on social networks Twitter and Instagram. There he not only exhibits fragments from films with his participation, but also encourages subscribers (and there are almost half a million of them) to actively engage in sports.

Alexander Nevsky now

Now Alexander continues his career as a producer and screenwriter. He is preparing for the release of the next film “Hercules. The Beginning”, in which he will also play the main role.

Alexander Nevsky in 2020

Another Nevsky production project, work on which has not yet been completed, was the film “Changing Lives” directed by Mark Dacascos. The main roles will be played by Dmitry Bikbaev, Oksana Sidorenko, Natalia Medvedeva and Polina Butorina.

Advisor to the Governor

What really corresponds to reality in his regalia is the position of adviser to the governor of the Tula region, Vladimir Gruzdev. Having unexpectedly taken over the post of head of the region, the official decided in this way to raise his image in the eyes of residents of the region, who were inexperienced in the intricacies of the world of sports and cinema. For domestic bodybuilding fans, Alexander Nevsky became known more for his master classes than for his cinematic experiences. In his usual confident manner, he instructs spectators to engage in sports in completely unsuitable places and to use the first objects that come to hand instead of equipment.

Alexander Nevsky and Vladimir Gruzdev

Nevsky's gym was replaced by the interior of a passenger car, and the bar of the barbell was replaced by an ordinary mop. As a result, the flow of ridicule for “Mr. Dumpling” increased exponentially. In 2020, another “masterpiece” from Nevsky, the thriller “Maximum Impact,” was released. With tenacity to be put to better use, the director repeated all his previous mistakes. The last time in Russia, Alexander Nevsky reminded himself of himself with a scandalous interview, in which he admitted an irresistible desire to stuff the face of Harvey Weinstein, the person involved in a high-profile sex scandal in American show business. All that remains is to ask Weinstein himself whether the image of the Russian showman remains in his memory?

Films that Nevsky made himself

During the same period, six films were released, of which he himself was the producer. Who sponsored these films is also shrouded in darkness, but “fans” have quite harsh assumptions, including “a close connection with scammers, swindlers and scammers who resorted to his services for the purpose of laundering money through films.” This is what some explain the fact of their birth. Although, naturally, no one provides evidence to support these statements. In his films, Kuritsyn played the main roles - an “honest cop” or a fighter for the truth. All these films have the same shortcomings: the lack of a well-thought-out plot, the outright prolongation of the film (meaningless walking, unnecessary lengths, etc.), which are visible even to a non-specialist. Nevsky, in all his roles, probably tried to be like Schwarzenegger (from his gait to his smoking). And vodka. There's nowhere without her. All the heroes constantly consumed this particular alcoholic drink. Fights, shootouts, murders, explosions of various types of transport - these are all the details of the films.

Criticism

An open letter “about Nevsky-Kuritsyn” in December 2010, signed by a number of prominent bodybuilders and functionaries (including Sergei Shelestov), states that Nevsky has nothing to do with professional bodybuilding and did not participate in any bodybuilding competition that took place in Russia. According to the bodybuilders who signed the letter, including European and world champions, they have not heard of a single competition in which Alexander Nevsky participated, and all his titles were invented by him. The letter states that Nevsky’s certification in television programs as “adviser to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on sports” was checked by the assistant to the Minister of Culture for that period, O. V. Grishina, who confirmed that such a position does not exist in the ministry and such a person was never involved neither as a full-time employee, nor even as part of a community service. The same letter contained a number of negative characteristics addressed to him[4]. Nevsky responded to this open letter; In his response, he accused the letter's authors of "throwing mud at him," linked the letter to his fight against steroids, claiming that some bodybuilders who signed it were stripped of their titles because of their use of illegal drugs, and another signer wrote a book about drug regimens. drugs.[18]

In February 2011, a letter was published from a number of functionaries and champions of the WBBF-WFF federation, which held the Mr. Universe championship, which Nevsky won. The letter says that the return of Alexander Nevsky to the sport should be a decisive impetus for changing the current deplorable situation around bodybuilding: “it was Alexander who, with all his activities - be it winning competitions, new books, films, television and radio broadcasts - showed that it is possible to create a harmonious body through hard training and proper nutrition, and not through injections that jeopardize the health and, ultimately, the lives of athletes.”[19]

The film "Black Rose", released in 2014 by Alexander Nevsky, was also criticized. The film turned out to be a failure at the box office ($887 thousand with a budget of $7 million) K: Wikipedia: Articles without sources (type: not specified)[ source not specified 1511 days

], and according to reviews from viewers, critics and bloggers. Most reviewers noted the low quality of filming and special effects, the secondary and absurdity of the script, a huge number of cliches from action films of the 1980s and 1990s (even frame-by-frame repetition of scenes from the films “Cobra”, “Red Heat”, etc.), as well as the extremely low the level of acting of Alexander Nevsky.[20][21][22]

Moments X

As he grew older, the boy realized that if he did not pump up his biceps, he would constantly be in the shadow of others. It was enough determination to enroll in the children's basketball section and attend classes regularly. For inspiration, he watched a movie with Chuck Norris, admired the achievements of Jean-Claude Van Damme and set them as an example for himself. The picture of the world changed one day when, at the age of 14, I saw juggler Valentin Dikul in the circus. His strength and figure motivated him so much for physical self-improvement that the teenager signed up for boxing . However, at first the classes did not produce any visible results. With a height of 194 cm at the age of 15, his weight did not exceed 60 kg, and his biceps volume was 26 cm.
The teenager came across a photo of Schwarzenegger, who inspired him to pick up a barbell. Over time, from an obedient good boy, he turned into a strong young man who knew what he wanted. He spent every free minute doing weight training or in the ring. By this time, he became interested in kickboxing , and later became a prize-winner at the local championship. During this period, a new hobby appeared in my life - martial arts . Alexander attended seminars and tried his hand at a new sport.

There was no time left for study. As a result, Sasha failed his final exams and said goodbye to his dream of entering a humanitarian university. A year later, he still managed to get into the University of Management and graduate from the Faculty of Management in Moscow. During my studies, training continued to be a priority. He did not miss a single opportunity to announce himself to the world. The sociable guy was good at it.

Excerpt characterizing Nevsky, Alexander Alexandrovich

– Don’t you need a coffee pot? – he turned to Esaul. “I bought it from our sutler, it’s wonderful!” He has wonderful things. And he is very honest. This is the main thing. I will definitely send it to you. Or maybe flints have come out and become abundant - because this happens. I took with me, I have here... - he pointed to the bags, - a hundred flints. I bought it very cheap. Please take as much as you need, or that’s all... - And suddenly, afraid that he had lied, Petya stopped and blushed. He began to remember if he had done anything else stupid. And, going through the memories of this day, the memory of the French drummer appeared to him. “That’s great for us, but what about him? Where did they take him? Was he fed? Did you offend me?" - he thought. But having noticed that he had lied about the flints, he was now afraid. “You could ask,” he thought, “and they’ll say: the boy himself felt sorry for the boy. I'll show them tomorrow what a boy I am! Would you be embarrassed if I asked? - thought Petya. “Well, it doesn’t matter!” - and immediately, blushing and looking fearfully at the officers, to see if there would be mockery in their faces, he said: “Can I call this boy who was taken prisoner?” give him something to eat... maybe... “Yes, pathetic boy,” Denisov said, apparently not finding anything shameful in this reminder. - Call him here. His name is Vincent Bosse. Call. “I’ll call,” said Petya. - Call, call. “Pitiful boy,” Denisov repeated. Petya was standing at the door when Denisov said this. Petya crawled between the officers and came close to Denisov. “Let me kiss you, my dear,” he said. - Oh, how great! how good! - And, having kissed Denisov, he ran into the yard. - Bosse! Vincent! – Petya shouted, stopping at the door. - Who do you want, sir? - said a voice from the darkness. Petya answered that the boy was French, who was taken today. - A! Spring? - said the Cossack. His name Vincent has already been changed: the Cossacks - into Vesenny, and the men and soldiers - into Visenya. In both adaptations, this reminder of spring coincided with the idea of a young boy. “He was warming himself by the fire there.” Hey Visenya! Visenya! Spring! – voices and laughter were heard in the darkness. “And the boy is smart,” said the hussar standing next to Petya. “We fed him just now.” Passion was hungry! Footsteps were heard in the darkness and, bare feet splashing in the mud, the drummer approached the door. – Ah, c'est vous! - said Petya. – Voulez vous manger? “N’ayez pas peur, on ne vous fera pas de mal,” he added, timidly and affectionately touching his hand. - Entrez, entrez. [Oh, it's you! Are you hungry? Don't be afraid, they won't do anything to you. Come in, come in.] - Merci, monsieur, [Thank you, sir.] - answered the drummer in a trembling, almost childish voice and began to wipe his dirty feet on the threshold. Petya wanted to say a lot to the drummer, but he didn’t dare. He stood next to him in the hallway, shifting. Then in the darkness I took his hand and shook it. “Entrez, entrez,” he repeated only in a gentle whisper. “Oh, what should I do to him!” - Petya said to himself and, opening the door, let the boy pass by. When the drummer entered the hut, Petya sat away from him, considering it humiliating for himself to pay attention to him. He just felt the money in his pocket and was in doubt whether it would be a shame to give it to the drummer. From the drummer, who, on Denisov’s orders, was given vodka, mutton and whom Denisov ordered to dress in a Russian caftan, so that, without sending him away with the prisoners, he would be left with the party, Petya’s attention was diverted by the arrival of Dolokhov. Petya in the army heard many stories about the extraordinary courage and cruelty of Dolokhov with the French, and therefore, from the moment Dolokhov entered the hut, Petya, without taking his eyes off, looked at him and became more and more encouraged, twitching his head raised, so as not to be unworthy even of such a society as Dolokhov. Dolokhov’s appearance strangely struck Petya with its simplicity. Denisov dressed in a checkmen, wore a beard and on his chest the image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in his manner of speaking, in all his manners, he showed the peculiarity of his position. Dolokhov, on the contrary, previously, in Moscow, who wore a Persian suit, now had the appearance of the most prim Guards officer. His face was clean-shaven, he was dressed in a guards cotton frock coat with George in the buttonhole and a simple cap straight on. He took off his wet cloak in the corner and, going up to Denisov, without greeting anyone, immediately began asking about the matter. Denisov told him about the plans that large detachments had for their transport, and about sending Petya, and about how he responded to both generals. Then Denisov told everything he knew about the position of the French detachment. “That’s true, but you need to know what and how many troops,” said Dolokhov, “you will need to go.” Without knowing exactly how many there are, you cannot start the business. I like to do things carefully. Now, would any of the gentlemen want to go with me to their camp? I have my uniforms with me. - I, I... I will go with you! – Petya screamed. “You don’t need to go at all,” Denisov said, turning to Dolokhov, “and I won’t let him in for anything.” - That's great! - Petya cried out, - why shouldn’t I go?.. - Yes, because there is no need. “Well, excuse me, because... because... I’ll go, that’s all.” Will you take me? – he turned to Dolokhov. “Why…” answered Dolokhov absentmindedly, peering into the face of the French drummer. - How long have you had this young man? – he asked Denisov. - Today they took him, but he doesn’t know anything. I left it for myself. - Well, where are you putting the rest? - said Dolokhov. - How to where? I'm sending you under the guard! – Denisov suddenly blushed and cried out. “And I can boldly say that there is not a single person on my conscience.” Is it really right for you to send away a person under escort in a city, what to do, I will tell you, the honor of a soldier. “It’s decent for a young count of sixteen to say these pleasantries,” Dolokhov said with a cold grin, “but it’s time for you to leave it.” “Well, I’m not saying anything, I’m just saying that I will definitely go with you,” Petya said timidly. “And it’s time for you and me, brother, to give up these pleasantries,” Dolokhov continued, as if he found special pleasure in talking about this subject that irritated Denisov. - Well, why did you take this to you? - he said, shaking his head. - Then why do you feel sorry for him? After all, we know these receipts of yours. You send them a hundred people, and thirty will come. They will starve or be beaten. So is it all the same not to take them? Esaul, narrowing his bright eyes, nodded his head approvingly. - This is all shit, there’s nothing to discuss here. I don’t want to take it on my soul. You talk - pomg'ut. Well, hog'osho. Just not from me. Dolokhov laughed. “Who didn’t tell them to catch me twenty times?” But they will catch me and you, with your chivalry, anyway. – He paused. - However, we have to do something. Send my Cossack with a pack! I have two French uniforms. Well, are you coming with me? – he asked Petya. - I? Yes, yes, absolutely,” Petya cried, blushing almost to tears, looking at Denisov. Again, while Dolokhov was arguing with Denisov about what should be done with the prisoners, Petya felt awkward and hasty; but again I did not have time to fully understand what they were talking about. “If big, famous people think so, then it must be so, therefore it’s good,” he thought. “And most importantly, Denisov must not dare to think that I will obey him, that he can command me.” I will definitely go with Dolokhov to the French camp. He can do it and so can I.” To all of Denisov’s urgings not to travel, Petya replied that he, too, was used to doing everything carefully, and not Lazar’s at random, and that he never thought about danger to himself. “Because,” you yourself must agree, “if you don’t know correctly how many there are, the lives of maybe hundreds depend on it, but here we are alone, and then I really want this, and I will definitely, definitely go, you won’t stop me.” “, he said, “it will only get worse... Dressed in French greatcoats and shakos, Petya and Dolokhov drove to the clearing from which Denisov looked at the camp, and, leaving the forest in complete darkness, descended into the ravine. Having driven down, Dolokhov ordered the Cossacks accompanying him to wait here and rode at a fast trot along the road to the bridge. Petya, transfixed with excitement, rode next to him. “If we get caught, I won’t give up alive, I have a gun,” Petya whispered. “Don’t speak Russian,” Dolokhov said in a quick whisper, and at that same moment a cry was heard in the darkness: “Qui vive?” [Who's coming?] and the ringing of a gun. Blood rushed to Petya's face, and he grabbed the pistol. “Lanciers du sixieme, [Lancers of the sixth regiment.],” said Dolokhov, without shortening or increasing the horse’s stride. The black figure of a sentry stood on the bridge. – Mot d'ordre? [Feedback?] – Dolokhov held his horse and rode at a walk. – Dites donc, le colonel Gerard est ici? [Tell me, is Colonel Gerard here?] - he said. – Mot d'ordre! - Without answering, the sentry said, blocking the road. “Quand un officier fait sa ronde, les sentinelles ne demandent pas le mot d'ordre...” Dolokhov shouted, suddenly flushing, running his horse into the sentry. – Je vous demande si le colonel est ici? [When the officer goes around the chain, the sentries do not ask for feedback... I ask, is the colonel here?] And, without waiting for an answer from the guard who stood aside, Dolokhov walked up the hill at a walk. Noticing the black shadow of a man crossing the road, Dolokhov stopped this man and asked where the commander and officers were? This man, a soldier with a sack on his shoulder, stopped, came close to Dolokhov’s horse, touching it with his hand, and simply and friendlyly said that the commander and officers were higher on the mountain, on the right side, in the farm yard (that’s what he called the master’s estate). Having driven along the road, on both sides of which French conversation could be heard from the fires, Dolokhov turned into the courtyard of the manor’s house. Having passed through the gate, he dismounted from his horse and approached a large blazing fire, around which several people were sitting, talking loudly. Something was boiling in a pot on the edge, and a soldier in a cap and blue overcoat, kneeling, brightly illuminated by the fire, stirred it with a ramrod. “Oh, c'est un dur a cuire, [You can’t deal with this devil.]” said one of the officers sitting in the shadows on the opposite side of the fire. “Il les fera marcher les lapins... [He will get through them...],” said another with a laugh. Both fell silent, peering into the darkness at the sound of the steps of Dolokhov and Petya, approaching the fire with their horses. - Bonjour, messieurs! [Hello, gentlemen!] - Dolokhov said loudly and clearly. The officers stirred in the shadow of the fire, and one, a tall officer with a long neck, walked around the fire and approached Dolokhov. – C'est vous, Clement? - he said. – D'ou, diable... [Is that you, Clément? Where the hell...] - but he didn’t finish, having learned his mistake, and, frowning slightly, as if he were a stranger, he greeted Dolokhov, asking him how he could serve. Dolokhov said that he and a friend were catching up with their regiment, and asked, turning to everyone in general, if the officers knew anything about the sixth regiment. Nobody knew anything; and it seemed to Petya that the officers began to examine him and Dolokhov with hostility and suspicion. Everyone was silent for a few seconds. “Si vous comptez sur la soupe du soir, vous venez trop tard, [If you are counting on dinner, then you are late.],” said a voice from behind the fire with a restrained laugh. Dolokhov replied that they were full and that they needed to move on at night. He gave the horses to the soldier who was stirring the pot, and squatted down by the fire next to the long-necked officer. This officer, without taking his eyes off, looked at Dolokhov and asked him again: what regiment was he in? Dolokhov did not answer, as if he had not heard the question, and, lighting a short French pipe, which he took out of his pocket, asked the officers how safe the road was from the Cossacks ahead of them. “Les brigands sont partout, [These robbers are everywhere.],” answered the officer from behind the fire. Dolokhov said that the Cossacks were terrible only for such backward people as he and his comrade, but that the Cossacks probably did not dare to attack large detachments, he added questioningly. Nobody answered. “Well, now he’ll leave,” Petya thought every minute, standing in front of the fire and listening to his conversation. But Dolokhov again began the conversation that had stopped and directly began asking how many people they had in the battalion, how many battalions, how many prisoners. Asking about the captured Russians who were with their detachment, Dolokhov said:

In fact

"Universe" and "Mr. Universe".
Just one word. Sanya Kuritsyn is a banal cunt. He was never a bodybuilder and assigned all the titles attributed to him to himself. True bodybuilders have known this for a long time, but most became aware of it after the scandal in 2010 with the Mr. Universe contest. Then Nevsky, showing a bent cup, apparently bought at a nearby sports store, told the press and television that he had become the first Russian winner of this prize, the same one that 40 years ago received the main object of Sasha’s wet dreams - Iron Arnie. But the problem is that Nevsky was not on the list of winners of this competition, and besides, contrary to Kuritsyn’s words, the Russian bodybuilder Sergei Ogorodnikov had already won before him.

He sucked in his beer belly and tensed his face.

As it turned out later, in 2010 Nevsky still participated, but as an invited guest in another competition called “Universe”, which was held by the Fitness

WFF has nothing to do with the Mr. Universe competition, in which Schwarzenegger won. Moreover, even at these competitions, Kuritsyn only took part in demonstration performances - in the so-called “guest posing”, for which all participants are given commemorative medals. So they gave him this badge. Thus, he did not even become any Mr. He just took part in a couple’s performance with the world champion in ballroom dancing Oksana Sidorenko, where he portrayed “Hercules”, covering his fat thighs with a rag. In addition to Nevsky and Sidorenko, another couple took part in the competition, which the subject and his partner won.

In addition, the organization in question brutally screwed real bodybuilder Dayo Audi (who retired in 2008) by inviting him to guest pose and then calling the party an official competition for the Universe title. Dayo shitted himself with bricks and wrote a letter in which he clarified the situation.

This organization arose due to the failure of the original competition, after which, thanks to the ChSV of its authors, it tried to announce “its version” of the famous title. The hero of the article was taken as the main PR man, who intensively advertises them at every step in Russia, persistently declaring that he is Mr. Universe, but “according to another federation.” Like, everything is like in boxing. There are more than enough similar clone competitions held all over the world in various disciplines. There must be somewhere for the numerous lazy losers with huge egos to find fulfillment?! All this is supported by Sanya’s enchanting ideas to create his own version of Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Olympia.

Roughly speaking, we don’t even have a sharashka office, but a whole enchanting fake phenomenon in bodybuilding, where, apparently, anyone can become a champion through pull, or by pushing their paw. Of course, all this is more or less obvious to most athletes. But Kuritsyn’s target audience has always been a layman far from sports.

All this was vividly written about on the Internet, discussed on the radio, and NTV even made a whole story exposing all the “merits” of Mr. Kuritsyn. However, he did not comment on the seething and stubbornly continues to call himself Mr. Universe. But you and I know.

Why did Alexander Nevsky displease Russian bodybuilding?

In short, he is considered a liar and an impostor.

In Russian bodybuilding, certain Federation officials and famous bodybuilders speak critically about the titles and achievements of Alexander Nevsky in bodybuilding, stating that “they don’t know such a bodybuilder at all.”

What is being criticized?

First of all, his title of Mr. Universe, his claims to being an expert in fitness and bodybuilding, as well as the purity from anabolic steroids that he stands for.

1 "Mr. Universe" or "Mr. Dumplings"

Alexander Nevsky claims to be the holder of the Mr. Universe title, the same title held by Arnold Schwarzenegger. A popular formulation goes something like this:

“In October 2012, Nevsky took part for the third time in the WBBF natural bodybuilding competition and took 1st place among 120 athletes, receiving the title Mr. Universe 2012.”

A detailed investigation, which was once carried out by Internet users and journalists, questions Nevsky’s title and calls his statements an outright lie.

What is the reason?

He is not on the list of winners on the website of the NABBA bodybuilding federation, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger competed and became Mr. 5 times. Universe.

Alexander comments on this fact by saying that there are various federations and he took part in competitions organized by the WBBF federation, which broke away from NABBA and was led by opponents of the use of pharmacology in bodybuilding.

If you think what we do is important, support our project!

YES!

An even closer look reveals that even in this federation he took part not as a competitive athlete, but as one of three invited guests for guest posing.

According to the testimony of one of the other two invited guests, “they were all out of shape, it was just a pleasant pastime, for which they were also given medals” (correspondence here).

Perhaps receiving a medal of gratitude after guest posing became a reason for exaggeration in Alexander’s mind of his own perception and a story leaked into the information mouthpiece that he had become Mr. Universe... but then how to explain the presence of a cup and diploma in the photo above?

Views have been expressed that the results were fabricated by the organizers of the competition, and the titles were bought by invited guests...

Be that as it may, it is difficult for a sober mind to comprehend two mutually contradictory facts: the absence of any physical form from Alexander Nevsky and the assignment of the title Mister Universe to him...

Or we are simply too accustomed to the picture of incorrect chemical bodybuilding created in our brain...

The main reason for the negativity towards Alexander Nevsky is the deceit in personally assigning himself the title Mr. Universe, which he never possessed

2 Expert in fitness and bodybuilding

Alexander Nevsky wrote many books on bodybuilding.

Printed work is indeed most often the form in which accumulated experience in various spheres of human activity is embodied. But we must remember that the opposite is not always true: having books under your own name is by no means a sign of expertise.

Alexander's physical form is not impressive. Critics note a large percentage of fat and insufficient development of almost all muscle groups.

Alexander himself, in his interview (see below), explains that such fat content is the norm for athletes who do not use anabolic steroids... Another natural immediately comes to mind - Michael Ashley - who was a well-known opponent of steroids and cut himself using natural methods to 5%...

A wave of indignation among Nevsky’s opponents is also caused by the technique of performing exercises, which can be seen in a few videos on his profile on Instagram and YouTube...

The non-standard approach is noticeable, the tendency to work with inappropriate weights and incomplete amplitude... with mops and saying “just like that.”

But we all tend to bring elements of creativity into our training and lifestyle, and we know that the concept of “correct” is very relative: some experts argue that it is necessary to perform exercises to the full amplitude; then the Korean Chul Soon appears on the arena with an incredible physique and experts comment that his secret is in the specifics of performing exercises... with a short stroke.

Maybe absolutely everything in the life of Alexander Nevsky is criticized in the wake of hostility towards his personality? After all, this happens...

Another reason for criticism of Alexander Nevsky is his atypical physical shape for bodybuilders: a large percentage of fat and poor muscle development

3 Purity from the use of anabolic steroids

Questions about the use of pharmacology are among the most inconvenient for professional bodybuilders, since it is no secret to anyone that there are practically no clean athletes left. See How natural is modern natural bodybuilding?

Alexander Nevsky actively positions himself as an opponent of the use of pharmacology in bodybuilding. Well, in general, this is not bad: modern bodybuilding really needs a loudly expressed alternative point of view, which is important for young people to hear...

But there are doubts about the purity of Alexander himself from the use of anabolic steroids.

It is reliably known that in his youth he used them himself (see interview below) and then achieved excellent form.

In one of the investigations by NTV journalists, for some reason Nevsky refused their offer to take tests after his statement about non-use.

Alexander Nevsky’s 140 kg weight, which is atypical for straight men, also raises doubts.

It is known that the weights of bodybuilders from the golden era of bodybuilding very rarely exceeded 100 kg. And Nevsky’s idol Arnold, at the peak of his form after getting acquainted with steroids, weighed only 130 kg... In order for a straight man to gain 140 kg, he needs excellent genetics, even taking into account his height.

Alexander Nevsky is known for his stance against the use of pharmacology in bodybuilding. However, when asked by journalists, he refused to take tests and, without anabolic steroids, has greater muscle mass than Arnold at his peak with anabolic steroids
