The popular blogger diligently hides her nationality, contacts, where she lives and many other details of her personal life from the general public. From her biography, what is known for certain is that she was born on May 19, 1993 in Moscow and has an incomplete higher education.
Childhood and youth of Katya Klap
The future star of the media space was raised in an ordinary family with average income. Katya's father worked as a mechanic, and her mother, having received the specialty of an interior designer, was engaged in the design of apartments. Her parents paid enough attention to Katya and from early childhood took her to various classes - from ballroom dancing to horse riding.
However, she herself did not like almost anything, and the girl preferred to sit at home and spend time watching films and TV series. Her personal life was not going well due to severe social phobia.
After graduating from high school, she entered the directing department of the Institute of Contemporary Art. However, as a first-year student, she decided that her studies were not of sufficient interest to her, and she left the university, taking her documents.
From early childhood, Ekaterina had a passion for cinema and visual art. Therefore, having a lot of free time, the girl began to explore the vastness of YouTube. The debut video entitled “Half-Litre Mouse” did not arouse interest from the Internet community, which did not stop Katya on the path to success.

Career path
Katya Klap’s creative biography begins in 2008, when at the age of fifteen she decided to open her debut channel, which was called Foggy Disaster (“Foggy Disaster”). The channel raised topical topics, while Katya transformed into various fictional characters, parodied stars and performed songs of her own composition.
Among the most popular personalities of the channel performed by Klap:
- Kimmy. A laconic goth girl, causing a barrage of ridicule from others. She is not distinguished by an outstanding mind, so in rare cases she understands jokes directed at her;
- Anna. A professional killer who, in her spare time, cross-stitches and writes love poems;
- Blair. A girl with an active life position, but in terms of intellectual development she is not far behind Kimmy.
Despite their different characters, all the heroines of the Foggy Disaster channel are connected by strong bonds of friendship. The most charismatic secondary characters in "Misty Disaster", according to viewers, are Megan Fox, a fortune teller with no name, and Mario, Anna's lover. The last video on Foggy Disaster was posted in March 2020, but today the number of subscribers on it exceeds 1.6 million.
Channels
Currently Katya has two channels: FoggyDisaster and TheKateClapp. The main channel - FoggyDisaster - was registered on August 20, 2008 and contains comedy sketches, musical parodies of stars, reviews of films and books, interactive games, footage from one’s own life, generously seasoned with humor, enthusiasm and positivity, which is abundantly endowed with an extraordinary YouTube star. The channel has more than 1 million subscribers and about 70 million views.
The second channel - TheKateClapp - was created on December 6, 2010 and collected over 1 million 600 thousand subscribers and 139 million views as of July 2014. Here Katya uploads videos about her travels, going to various events, answers questions from fans and fulfills their requests and wishes (more on this below).
A distinctive feature of the girl’s videos is her friendliness, optimism, love for people, self-irony and modesty. Despite the resounding success at such a young age, Katya managed to retain her best features. She tries to put a certain meaning into each video: humanity, love for animals, issues of self-realization.
And therefore the answer to the question “Who is Katya Klap?” is clear: this is a multi-faceted, talented person, eager to make the world a little better by promoting good mood and true human values. This is what explains its enormous popularity.
Personal life of Katya Klap
She prefers to remain silent about her personal life and does not touch upon this topic of concern to fans in her videos.
Such secrecy gave rise to a lot of rumors and speculation among numerous fans. According to one of them, Klap is afraid to tell the general public about his non-traditional sexual orientation. According to others, the girl married a wealthy man, who strictly forbade her to talk about his family.
In 2020, fans actively discussed Katya’s romance with Evgeny Bazhenov, the author of the popular YouTube channel Bad Comedian. They traveled around Japan at the same time, and in an interview with the popular rap artist Vasily Vakulenko (Basta), Evgeniy said that they had more than just friendly relations with Ekaterina. Fans and journalists do not know for certain whether he is going to marry Kate, and whether the guy lives with her.

By her example, Katya Klap inspires to do something interesting and important in her life, motivates her to get her butt off the couch and change her life for the better. Be as cheerful as Katya!
Did/were you at the casting? Or do you believe everything that those who were not there say? I let everyone speak and finish. I asked about all the talents and all the facts that the participant can share in order to open up and show what kind of person/character he/she is. I don’t shut up people (any kind), but I talk to those with whom I’m interested/needed - with the participant himself, who is standing on the stage. I can't shut up. It might be bad, it might be good. I had situations in my childhood. They bullied, humiliated and threatened (in childhood). I started “speaking” only thanks to the blog. Because we quickly weaned off the “loud” ones. There were wonderful participants, there were talented participants, there were those who were rude to us - yes, everything happened. I can only answer for myself. And I didn’t say bad things to people. Only constructively. In fact. And she always ended up with advice on how to do better or how to find yourself. My word was always final. And I don’t wish harm on anyone. 80% of the participants received “Yes” from me.
