Once a gloomy, stooped drug addict, an underdog, an underrapper, a singer in a whisper and a reader of poetry. He became famous, first of all, for his poems, which were widely quoted and still cause fierce squabble on the Internet, as well as for his friendship with Spider, for example, large-scale concerts in the early 2000s and low-quality sound recordings of albums (which was done deliberately). Dolphin's poems basically call for everyone who doesn't understand that life is shit to become a hero, or to simply think about the meaning of their existence. All this is done simply by interspersing a couple of simple rhymes, which prompt listeners to these thoughts, thanks to which Dolphin remains popular among young cattle.

At the turn of the nineties and zeros, Dolphin managed to become an idol of youth, emarians, goths, shitheads and hipsters. Now he has finally turned into an indie musician.

The future alternative artist began the path to success, oddly enough, not in the Govnar parties, but even on the contrary - in the breakers’ party. It’s just that in the mid-80s, Misha Gorby had just come to power, through the cracks in the Iron Curtain the breeze of democracy was already beginning to tickle the ass, there were shitheads, lyuberas and just gopotas all around.

At the dawn of perestroika, we could count the rappers on one hand of a drunken milling machine operator, but the breakdancing movement was stylish, fashionable, youthful and gaining momentum every day. It was from here in the early 90s that a little less than all the rappers of the “first wave” came, including our young talent Andryusha. For this reason, by the way, Andrei dropped out of his radio-mechanical technical school, dropping out of the 3rd year, so he apparently did not have a higher education.

He started out like everyone else: he danced on the Arbat, pushing matryoshka dolls and some other trinkets to tourists. Once, while sitting in the police station, I heard a police sergeant say something like this to me: “If you don’t calm down, you’ll die like the Guf dolphin [2].” This is how Andryusha got his nickname, under which people are amused to this day. However, I didn’t start writing poetry right away...

What is there in your life besides family and total immersion in creativity?

I don’t cross-stitch anything like that.

You said that you are in constant search of inner peace. Are you close to this state now?

It's a constant movement. You seize the moment when you feel very good; As soon as you have time to catch this feeling - “Oh, cool!” - and immediately you begin to roll in the other direction. I am never in balance for long; If you spend at least a day or evening like this, that’s great. Previously, I couldn’t even catch this moment, but now sometimes I realize that happiness is what it is.

Miron (son of Andrei Lysikov - RR) said in an interview that he was always interested in his father’s work. Does he ask you questions? What is he asking?

I’m sitting, thinking of something, and he comes with questions at a time when I’m very focused - it’s a habit. I understand that I need to talk to him, answer him something, but I just can’t! I ask: “Wait!” Then I try to return to him with a conversation before going to bed. Although it’s probably better to answer when asked...

He often asks practical questions. He doesn’t reflect on the lyrics—he’s living well so far.

I read poems from your “Children's Book”, which was published recently. Where do themes come from that you don’t usually find in children’s poetry? How did you construct the collection?

When you talk to a child, you need to communicate with him as an equal - very specifically. The Children's Book contains new texts that I wrote over a couple of months.

In this collection you also write about death (“An angel takes the dead to the palace of the father of fathers”). How has your attitude towards death changed since you were a child?

When we are young, it seems to us that we will never die. There is a joke: when someone celebrates their 25th birthday, their friends suddenly say: “Well, are you already turning 40?” And now you are 47. And you understand the obviousness of this event, its inevitability - and somehow you take people and what you do more seriously. Because you can't change anything. The sooner this awareness comes, the better the quality of life. The fear of the fact of my disappearance is still with me, and the fear of natural physical processes, which are also inevitable, is an unpleasant story, but you are less afraid of it.

You performed together with Decl in the late 90s. What was your relationship like with him?

We had a joint tour, but we were already grown-up guys, about 25 years old, and Kirill was very young and surrounded by his friends and peers - about 15 years old. A security guard traveled with them, in whose arms they were constantly hanging like monkeys. That's how I remember him. There was a good commercial offer, we agreed to it. I don’t even know what they saw as the connection between us - rap and rap.

What did you think when you heard about Kirill's death?

I thought about his loved ones. Great loss and sadness.

Many began to talk about his lack of recognition. Decl continued to make music for many years after his teenage rise, and died performing old hits.

The Irony of Fate. How else can I say it? But if he was confident in what he was doing, then everything was not in vain and there was nothing to regret. Whether he had fans doesn't matter.

In the late 90s, it seems, Dolphin also had a rise. Did you feel the recession in the 2000s?

Out of interest in me - of course. But, relatively speaking, we simply switched from “blockbusters” to “auteur cinema.” That is, they began to make music that requires certain preparation to listen to. And I really felt that the people who started coming to our concerts knew why they were coming. Those who came to the concert by chance simply left. I have always liked more musicians or directors who, by recording music or making films, influenced those who are now known to us and whose names are well-known.

What do you value most in the people who join your music team?

Probably the ability to hear each other and a sense of humor.

Sense of humor? You come across as a rather serious person.

  . Martial youth, the flowering and decline of Dolphin’s creativity, who wrote slightly less than ALL the lyrics for the group’s songs, and sometimes performed them well himself. Everyone knows that if Dolphin had not gotten into the “Bachelor Party” in 1991, the group would have been of no use to anyone and would not have been remembered for anything in history. And so at least everyone knew that there was sex in the USSR, and without interruption. Thank you, Dolphin.

  . Another group, the leader of which was Dolphin, this time a vocal-instrumental ensemble playing a mixture of rock with rap and also with some psychedelic admixture. The first mention of the group dates back to 1989; in 1990-1991 the group participated in Soviet rap festivals. At one time, the Oak Band delivered incredibly: under the depressive, hard-to-listen wheeze of guitars, Dolphin read lyrics first about drugs, retelling to the listener his condition of drug addicts during visits, and alcoholics during a hangover, and in the end became fixated on suicide, attractively and convincingly singing about how good it feels to become a hero. Anonymous witnessed how, after listening to DuGi's albums for a long time, young idiots had a fierce desire to take a kitchen knife and slash through their veins, while more adequate people had a desire to try drugs. Dolphin’s first creation, after which the bastards fell in love with him very much - and in general, according to experts, “Dubovy Gaai” are considered the founders of Russian alternative rock, moreover, someone managed to compare DuGa with the group “Kino” (sic!). 25 years later, hipsters still confuse the work of Dolphin with the Oak Band and manage to sign the songs of the latter simply “Dolphin” (this is especially noticeable on Bydlo VKontakte).

• "Misha's Dolphins"
  . After “Bachelor Party” and “Oak Guy” came to naught, Dolphin decided to break up “Oak Guy”, reducing the composition of the Oak Band to two people - guitarist Misha Voinov and, of course, himself. As a result, in 1996-1997, the duo “Mishina Dolphins” (a fucked-up name, isn’t it?) released a single album, where Misha Voinov played the guitar, and Dolphin already tried to sing. It turned out badly for him, but people grabbed it, because the ideology of Dolphin’s texts hasn’t changed at all.
• DOLPHIN
  . Actually, what Dolphin is now is a solo artist. The solo career of the singer Dolphin turned out to be much more successful than all his previous projects, if only because... well, damn, this is a solo career! Naturally, the profit is much greater. Dolphin began his career in the spirit of the “ex-Bachelor Party”: he rapped, but not about tits and pussies, but about drugs and what they do to a person, as well as about love, hate, life, death, hope and much more. much more. Then he started playing electronic music mixed with rock, and all the rap turned to mournful singing and whispering. In principle, it was then that Dolphin began to be considered an idol of Russian youth, although everyone got tired of him quite quickly. Now Dolphin is already over 40, and he continues to write some kind of psychedelic pop music, sometimes gathering full houses and sometimes performing for as many as 2 days in a row. Moreover, it is generally accepted that it was the texts of “Bachelor Party” and “Oak Guy” that shaped the then style of Russian rap. The adaptation of hip-hop to the post-Soviet masses took place precisely through the “Bachelor Party”, every boy and every real kid was simply obliged to have at least one album from the Bachelor Party, yes, yes, my young friend, this is the nineties.

For a long time, as part of the “Bachelor Party,” Dolphin sang and rocked out on stage in the very middle, and as if in the 90s, it was generally accepted that Dolphin is the entire Bachelor Party as a whole, and not without reason. Dolphin's texts (for Bachelor Party) were completely devoid of deep meaning (unlike his modern work) and other phraseological tricks: Dolphin was simply given a wad of money and a certain theme of a particular song, and he sat down at his desk and carried out the assigned order. Sad but true.

What can we say, the Soviet rappers of that time who were gradually emerging from underground, including this very “Bad Balance” of yours, did not hesitate to collaborate with Dolphin.

The public began to look askance at the musician when “Bad Balance” began to play an audio recording where the subject utters the following fatal words: “My name is Dolphin. I hate black music and black people." After this, on the eve of the collapse of “Bachelor Party”, Dolphin tried to justify himself to the indignant public, saying that he did not mean rotten racism, much less hatred of rap, it was just a “played sample” [4]. But they didn’t forgive Dolphin (because he sucks), so he had to become a singer-poet, and now he doesn’t consider his reading of rhymes to the beat to be rap at all, calling it “poetic recitatives to music” [5].

Oh, and by the way, Dolphin is a proponent of Spider's "Rap is poop" music theory. Dolphin even uttered this phrase himself, which greatly trolled both rappers and mitolizds, after which the fights and holivars among shitheads and rappers have not subsided to this day.

In 2008, Andryusha SUDDENLY posted on the Internet a video clip from 1998 together with the hip-hop group Da Boogie Crew called “The Coolest,” which had never been shown anywhere before, and the song itself had not been released anywhere. The video features show-offs, breakdancing, a limousine, a rapper and a Dolphin in a funny hat. Fans of the early rapper Dolphin shed a few tears in memory of that time.

In 2013, apparently remembering his grandiose past, at the age of 42 he danced an electric boogie in the “QT” video.

What's a Dolphin without heroin?

Once upon a time, the whole country listened to him with their ears covered. The refrain about sex without a break and obscene language set to hip-hop music came from every second gateway. Now the former lead singer of the group “Malchishnik” sings little about sex, but still occupies the top lines of the charts, his latest album “Star” is generally called almost the best Russian musical product, and according to the most critical critics, the guy really showed composer talent. Although Dolphin himself once admitted that he has no ear for music.

Before meeting with the musician, I was warned: Dolphin would only talk about music.
I didn't believe it. And I was not mistaken: 32-year-old Andrei Lysikov was not afraid to talk about his personal life, about his countless tattoos, and even about his wife and daughter, whom he always hid from journalists. For this, I, in turn, did not torment him with the most asked question: why Andrey is called Dolphin. Moreover, I already knew this. Sex is in fashion.
All that remains is to hone his skills. For those who don’t know, I’ll tell you: the nickname for the lead singer of the group “Dolphin” was assigned by chance. When he was selling nesting dolls on Arbat. It was for this activity that he ended up in the police: they tried to beat one guy, and the future star stood up. To which I received the answer: “Be quiet, otherwise you’ll end up with us like a dolphin.”

— How did you end up selling nesting dolls?

- This was before the Bachelor Party. After radio technical school. I thought that they would teach me there, but without a hint. He went to the theater to shine. It was one of the private theaters. There were crazy performances there. When the leading lady showed her tits. And I covered it. I worked there for a year. And I felt discomfort. That’s why I went to sell nesting dolls on Novy Arbat.

There was perestroika. They traded for currency - everyone wanted to earn money. I can't say that I got a lot out of it. But there was enough for life. True, at that time there was an article for foreign exchange transactions. I had to run away from the operatives. But in general it was more of a hangout place. We breakdanced and traded nesting dolls between dances.

— And all kinds of obscenity, “sex without a break” - was it spontaneously invented, and then they realized: it’s cool, or did they deliberately decide to shock?

- Honestly? We decided to deliberately shock the audience. At the age of 18-20, we became interested in hip-hop. The main theme of the songs was sex. It is possible that the words of the texts caused shock in an unprepared listener. But they realized that people were cheating. Of course, I had to listen to accusations. True, we were glad that the project was scandalous. And the producer grabbed his head and was proud of us.

- But they could have found trouble on their own, it was still Soviet times...

— Yes, I remember, after the video for “Sex without a break” was shown on the first channel of all-Union television, a huge scandal broke out. From this incident, “Bachelor Party” began to have problems not only with television, but also with radio stations and the press. In order to take part in the TV show “Muzoboz’s Playground,” we even had to urgently record a soundtrack that could be approved by television censorship. It was the song “Dancing”.

— Why did they change the topic now? Is sex no longer in fashion?

- Why?
Sex is in fashion. It’s just that all the problems have already been solved, and all that remains is to hone your skills. In fact, it would be funny now if I were jumping around on stage in short pants. I'm growing up, and it's logical that I'm changing. Tattoo man
- Tell me the secret - what have you tattooed over so many years?

- I'll open it. This dolphin on my arm is my favorite tattoo. Even with bleaching. I visited salons fifteen times. For me it is always a spontaneous decision. I have a friend who I went to school with who does this. The main thing is, he says: come and have tea. I'm coming. The seagull ends with another tattoo. I did it recently. On the back there is a shadow from a bird. Well, there are all sorts of abstract drawings. I think maybe I should switch to henna. They say it's less dangerous.

— They say that Dolphin is not at all alien to artistic creativity: your masterpiece called “Eyes” became the cover of the latest single.

— I sketched this face with the eyes of the singer Stella in 15 minutes. Sometimes there is a desire to do something. Or we’ll sit down with our daughter to draw. She goes for herself, and I follow her. We have mutual feedback.

— By the way, if your 5-year-old Eva says: Dad, I want to be like you. Well, not “Bachelor Party,” of course. And so - to sing, for example. Wouldn't they dissuade you from the cruel world of show business?

- He is cruel for fictional people. For the one who is being made. For such people it is very scary. If you don’t just go there like going to work, but do something of your own, it’s not at all so terrible.

— They say that at first you refused to record a duet with Stella. Is it difficult to communicate with foreign stars?

— A duet is a complex thing.
And especially when you don’t know a person who is from another country. But when I saw her, everything changed. The first thing that struck me was her eyes. Huge, blue. We talked, I read her poems and realized for myself that it was possible to deal with her. When she started singing, I generally understood: we are very close people. Moreover, she lived at my house, and we communicated without knowing the language: I spoke English, and she spoke Russian. I know twenty words in English. The rest was expressed in Russian words and gestures. “I realized that I love my wife only a year ago”
- So you say that you are changing and all that. Who do you dedicate the songs to?

— The latest record “Star” is entirely dedicated to my wife Lika (she has nothing to do with music. — Author). We initially wanted to make a record that was as different as possible from other works. That's why they created it with other people, because all musicians have their own style. If earlier I wrote with slogans, now the songs, so to speak, are more contemplative.

— Is the story of meeting Lika a big secret for a small company?

- I'll tell you. We were introduced once on April 1 at the birthday party of the Titanic club. My friends are musicians. They told me what a good girl was and how she suited me, and they sang the same thing about me to her. When we met, I felt calm and confident that next to her I could be who I really am. She knows me so well now, even more than I do myself. In general, I realized that I love my wife a year ago. Before that, I only knew that this was the person without whom it was hard for me and I needed him. Lately we have been getting closer to each other. I like it.

- What then is love for you?

— Roughly speaking, it’s a feeling of being needed by another person. I really understand that, apart from Lika, by and large, no one needs him. After all, everyone uses each other to one degree or another: I use someone, they use me.

— There is little joy in the lyrics of your songs: about death and everything about tears. There are, of course, optimistic notes, but more like hope for something better. Does this come from isolation and lack of optimism?

- Actually, I'm an optimist. Although at first glance it is not clear. And regarding isolation... I don’t feel discomfort when I’m alone. I don’t feel the urge to immediately call someone. Perhaps this is due to the greater attention paid to me as a person. Besides, I'm a jealous person. This is probably why there are no musicians among my friends.

— You recently became poet of the year here. Who contributed to receiving the pretentious award?

- I have no idea. There was a commission of 7-8 people, and everyone had the right to nominate their own candidate. I was Mr. Voznesensky's candidate. This was a surprise for me. The main thing is that it is on time. I wasn’t even in Moscow at the awards ceremony. Two and a half thousand dollars went: 50 thousand was divided among twenty people. I came to the bank and received it. But who whispered to Voznesensky about the singer Dolphin still remains a mystery.

— As a rock musician, don’t you get sick of pop music?

- Why - good.
Sometimes I even like her. Justin Timberlake, for example. The song “Toxic” by Britney Spears, its melodic sequence. Maybe some tracks from Mumiy Troll. In fact, I just sniffed it
- How do you get out of stress? Well, then, turn the car up to 150 and accelerate through the night streets...

“Sometimes I catch myself thinking that it’s dangerous to gas at night. I'm not an extreme person at all. I love comfortable conditions, and a desert island is not for me. Let's say I wouldn't go to the barricades with a stone in my hand, but I could write a song that would call people there. Music also makes me feel better. From the classic.

- What about alcohol?

- You can have a drink. At one time I was fond of Armenian cognac. Now I'm trying to experiment in this direction. But this is not a panacea.

— So, drugs are definitely a thing of the past in your life?

- In a past life, I would say. Even if they offer me to relax in this way, I will refuse. In fact, I was just dabbling in heroin. Sniffed. But one fine day a close friend came to me and said that if I didn’t quit, he would no longer communicate with me. And I decided to just end it. Coincidentally, at that time we had just gone on tour for two weeks, and I didn’t use anything. A month later I realized what hole I was lying at the bottom of. At first, use even stimulates mental activity and you can learn something new for yourself. For example, write a new song. But then it still ends in a nightmare.

— Do you have many shortcomings?

- Like everyone else, there is. I wish I could think faster. What I'm noticing is that what's really happening is that I have to think for a day to come up with any answer. I want to be kinder to people. Maybe not for everyone. But at least to loved ones. I'm a rather selfish person. I think more about myself.

- Well, what about the good things? I look at you: such a kind one is sitting there, cutting the truth...

- I'm more gentle than kind. If you don't do good deeds, then it's not kindness. It’s like the song sang: “I am kind, but I have never done good to anyone.”

Yes, yes, my long-haired friend, Dolphin has never been a rocker, and this is not an alternative opinion, but an indisputable fact, everyone around now understands and knows this, and Andryusha Dolphin himself did not particularly consider himself a rocker. But there are also some rednecks who believe that Dolphin is a true alternative rocker.

Of course, Dolphin tried to play something like rock, as part of the same Oak Band and Misha’s Dolphins, but that’s not why Dolphin became a “rocker,” but because somehow he was called to “Nashe Radio”, and there he stayed. Misha Kozyrev and the rest of the staff of Nashe Radio, amazed at the growing popularity of Dolphin among the people, did not hesitate to classify Dolphin as a bastard and began to actively play his tracks. “Our radio” itself did not lose anything from this, because let it be known to you that the music played on “Our Radio” had little more than nothing to do with Russian rock. And Dolphin himself benefited from retraining as a rocker after rap fans rejected him.

Fortunately, the subject is a very smart person and after a severe failure with the last album “Youth”, which fans of the album “Star” simply mixed with shit[6], he realized in time where to run. Our indie musicians, by the way, consider Dolphin to be the fathers and gods of their musical movement, that’s right.

Music lovers do not deny that the patient belongs to indie music, because after the dissolution of “DuGi”, Dolphin, since about 2001 (although “Fins” and “The Gray Album” of 1998 are also from that opera), has been making music based on Sonic Youth, on which I've been deliberately faking my whole life. All you have to do is turn on any track from the Fabrics album, and then any Sonic Youth song from the 90s. And phallomorph. Since 1997, Dolphin, however, has been famous for replicating the fashionable European/American sound, throwing everything into one compote, be it Nirvana, Sonic Youth or even Current 93, or even something more astral.

So don’t worry, fans, he makes underground music, independent of musical frameworks and styles, raises his daughter Eva and son Miron, and everything is fine with him. DO NOT TOUCH THE DOLPHIN! LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!

In general, this is a very controversial issue. Since Dolphin has no musical education, no hearing, no voice, he can hardly be called a musician. However, if you consider what is happening in the world of music now, then such voiceless and untalented singers are a dime a dozen. An amazing musician with a unique style and sound made a big tour in 2017, presenting listeners with an amazing program of already beloved and new songs. The public received him with delight. So, he staged a beautiful psychedelic show in Voronezh at the Pushka concert venue, where each performance was accompanied by unique video art.

In November in Penza, in the open air at the Berlin shopping center, he presented his new program “Synthetics” to the audience, a feature of which was the presence on stage, along with ordinary electronics, of “live” instruments.

At the end of the same month, he performed an updated concert program at the largest club in the capital, GlavClub Green Concert. His concert was scheduled for December 9 at the Erarta venue in the building of the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Northern capital.
