Childhood and school life of Oksana Sidorenko
Oksana was born into the family of a long-distance sailor in Kamchatka. The mother was involved in figure skating and gymnastics, so she believed that her daughter should connect her life with creativity.
Oksana Sidorenko in childhood
At the age of 5, Oksana began attending a dance club. The little girl was greatly impressed by the video recording of the performance of Donnie Burns and Gainer Fairweather. Oksana already dreamed of becoming a world champion in ballroom dancing from early childhood.
The unfavorable weather of Kamchatka, approaching cyclones, and constant winds forced the family to move to Salavat to live with relatives: “Kamchatka was constantly shaking, and we lived in fear. At home I had a bag ready with everything I needed in case something happened.”
In the new city, the girl entered a gymnasium class with an emphasis on choreography and studied at the Palace of Culture. The teacher did not see in her any outstanding talents as a dancer and often complained to her parents about her lack of motivation to study.
Oksana Sidorenko has been dancing since childhood
The first attempts to dance were unsuccessful. But Oksana diligently trampled her way into life “through thorns to the stars”, was a serious competitor in competitions and dance competitions, won significant awards and received prizes.
At the age of 12, the girl initiated the move to Ufa; her parents willingly accepted her request. Here she was assigned to a school where, according to the girl, there were “dirty children and evil teachers.” Studying at such a school caused depression in the girl; she wanted to return back to Salavat.
Then her parents sent her to a private school, where Oksana stayed until the 10th grade. In the 11th grade, the girl left school as a result of a noisy conflict with the director. Oksana received her education certificate at school No. 23, having studied there for about six months.
“Fizruk” actress Oksana Sidorenko: In Ufa I was kicked out of school
FIRST PA-COM
— Oksana, you were born in Kamchatka. How did it get to Bashkiria?
- Yes, indeed, my dad was a long-distance sailor. Kamchatka was constantly shaking, and we lived in fear. At home I had a bag ready with everything I needed in case of emergency. One day, some incredible cyclone was expected from the Kuril Islands. We left for Salavat, closer to relatives. For example, my grandmother on my mother’s side, Alexandra Ivanovna Vetsak, lives there; she is already 74 years old.
— And you started dancing in Salavat?
- Absolutely right. My mother is a very creative person - she was involved in figure skating and rhythmic gymnastics. She knew almost from my birth that her daughter would dance. In Salavat, I went to first grade at a gymnasium with an English and choreographic focus. I took up dancing and liked it. I started going to ballroom dancing at the Palace of Culture. But at first everything went wrong. The teacher complained to her mother: “Your Oksana doesn’t want to do anything at all! When he comes to class, his tights are hanging and he has stretch marks on his knees. Standing there, picking his nose. She doesn’t need dancing at all.” And just then a competition was planned, and I wanted to take part, but my mother dissuaded me - it was too early. I resisted and spoke out. All in green (she had chickenpox), white tights and a pink dress - chewing gum and that’s it. Friends came to watch and were stunned just by my appearance. In the end, she took last place.

“So the first pancake came out lumpy.” Have you given up?
— The excitement has appeared! A year later she performed better than anyone else and off we went. Competitions, competitions. She has conquered everything that can be conquered. But it was necessary to move on. I had a good dance partner in Ufa - at the age of 12 I told my parents: “We’re going to Ufa. Are you with me?
I WANT TO GO BACK TO SALAVAT!
- They agreed?
- Certainly. They assigned me to school, I think, to school 64. I really didn’t like it there – the children were kind of dirty, the teachers were mean. The complete opposite of where I was.
— A princess from a cool high school ends up in God knows where...
- Well, not exactly a princess. Normal girl. I was depressed: “I want to go back to Salavat!” My parents urgently sent me to private school N.

- Thieves' school! I did my teaching practice there.
- Yes, thieves. It was difficult to get there - in addition to the official fee, they took bribes for admission. We, they say, will take you, just buy new equipment or give money for repairs. But they took me without additional fees - by that time I was the absolute champion of Bashkiria, and it was prestigious for the director to have such a student. I studied there from 7th to 10th grade, and then I was kicked out.
- For what?
— I took the Unified State Exam in algebra, it was the first year when this exam appeared, and all the students in the class were distributed to different schools. But for some reason our director ended up where I took the test. And I had a solution book on my table. The director thought I was cheating, but that was not the case! I prepared for a long time with a tutor and decided everything myself. It got to the point of a scandal - she threatened to show it to the Minister of Sports: let him know how our athletes cheat. But this wasn’t enough for her: she gathered the whole school and hounded me. This was her favorite trick: to gather all the teachers and students and publicly humiliate someone. Absolutely disgusting woman. In general, I left school with a scandal.
- How did you get your certificate?
“I was walking down the street and I saw school No. 23. I walked in and said, “Let me finish school.” I have been studying there for the last six months.
— Do you now keep in touch with your classmates and teachers?
“As soon as I began to appear on the screen, the director of that same private school suddenly remembered me. He writes to me on social networks: “Hello, Oksanochka, come to our school, tra-ta-ta...”. But I don't answer. I still have a residue.

I WENT TO GITIS THE FIRST TIME
— And after school you rushed to Moscow.
- She pulled. I dreamed of entering GITIS as a choreographer. And I did! My parents were afraid to let me go alone. My grandmothers and aunts lived with me alternately in a rented apartment. And in parallel with my studies, I trained and traveled to competitions. At the age of 18, she won the Open World Latin American Dance Championships in England.
- Well, how did you become an actress?
— At the age of 19, at the peak of my dancing career, I injured my knee while skiing - I rolled down a mountain in the Moscow region for the first time and fell. I had surgery and couldn’t dance for six months. I recovered and started training again, but it was incredibly painful. The Great Depression, thoughts, torment. I realized that I needed to do something else and thought about the acting profession. I began to prepare, went to competitions at all theater universities. And again she entered GITIS, but this time in the acting department. The first time!

— So they did it so easily?
- Yes. My friends tried to dissuade me: “Where are you going? Famous actors took seven years to enroll.” But for me it was the last chance - I was 21 years old and they didn’t take older girls anymore. I prepared in just a couple of months, I just dove in head first. And already in her second year she starred in a movie for the first time - in “Interns” (Oksana played the girl with whom Phil fell in love because she looked like his lady love from America - Ed. )
NAGIYEV MAKES ME LAUGH ON THE SET
- And then there was “Sled” and now “Fizruk”.
— Well, who didn’t star in “Trace,” as the actors say. This is such a training. If you have gone through this company, you are no longer afraid of anything - all other conditions will seem like paradise. Everything there is very tough and low-budget. Let’s say an apartment is rented for filming for up to 12 hours. Time runs out, the owner asks to leave the premises. And everyone hangs out in the entrance. No toilet, heating, hot tea. And then filming outside in 30-degree frost - the soles fall off. Dressing rooms and trailers are well provided. Nothing in this company. So, if you go through this company, you are a force!
— In Fizruk you play a stripper. Doesn't this role bother you?
- What’s so special about it? A very interesting and challenging role. I like. As for outfits, I’m no stranger to this. I had the same ones in ballroom dancing. My heroine, Polina the psychologist, is a fool who wants to seem smart. This is a fine line that is difficult to catch. On set, I often act like a normal person. The director corrects me: “Oksana, you’re playing a smart girl again. Polina is a fool!

— How do you like working with Dmitry Nagiyev?
- We get along well. He comes up with jokes on the fly. Something tells me. But it can also be difficult to work with him when he is in a good mood - he says everything out of line, jokes around. And when there’s a close-up on you, Dima stands behind the scenes and talks some incredible nonsense to make you laugh. The director is furious: “Stop laughing.” And I shout to him: “Dima, that’s enough!”

In addition to her studies, Oksana was actively involved in training and appeared in competitive programs. In 2008, as a result of a severe knee injury at a ski resort, the girl was forced to leave dancing.
The recovery period took more than six months, and it was then that the idea of becoming an actor came to me. Despite excuses from friends, at that time she was already a professional dancer and enrolled in courses at various theater universities.
Thus, in 2009, she successfully graduated from the university with a specialization as a choreographer, then after three years she acquired a second higher education, enrolling in the acting department at the already familiar GITIS.
Career of Oksana Sidorenko
Oksana Sidorenko began her career as a dancer, but now she is very popular as a young and promising actress. Already at the age of 14, she won the title of absolute champion at the dance championship in Bashkiria.

Dancing
From the age of 5, Oksana began training in a rhythmic gymnastics club and dreamed of winning world championships in ballroom dancing. Kamchatka was frightening with cyclones and earthquakes, and besides, Sidorenko’s house was located at the foot of a dormant volcano, so near the front door of the apartment there was always a bag with the family’s belongings and documents in case of a sudden evacuation. The girl’s family left the troubled region, moving to relatives in the city of Salavat (Bashkortostan). There Sidorenko entered a gymnasium with a choreographic bias.

According to the actress’s recollections, during the first years of classes in the dance studio she was not considered a promising student. However, Oksana herself wanted to participate in the dance competition, where she eventually took 1st place from the end. Despite the defeat, the girl felt an interest in creativity. Thanks to intensive training and personal perseverance, Oksana went to victories in competitions, bringing home awards and prizes.
In 2000, Sidorenko and her family moved to Ufa. The capital of the republic allowed her to become the absolute champion at the Bashkortostan Dance Championship. But her studies were not going so well, and Sidorenko no longer changed the city, but the school. Her parents enrolled her in a private educational institution, but here, too, a conflict arose with the director, so Oksana received her high school diploma in a completely different place.

Sidorenko had a bright streak in her life, but a ski holiday in 2008 ruined everything: the dancer injured her leg, after which she had to leave professional dancing.
Rehabilitation took 6 months. It was a difficult period in her biography. During this time, a lot was thought out and weighed. Oksana Sidorenko decided to get a second higher education at the acting department of GITIS, which she graduated in 2012.
Dancer's career was derailed by injury
Later, Sidorenko complained that since childhood she had not developed musical abilities that would have been useful to her for participating in musicals. Oksana Sidorenko and Dmitry Nagiyev in Fizruk
In her interviews, Oksana shared her experience of working with Dmitry Nagiyev: “Therefore, at work you need to position yourself correctly, and it doesn’t matter at all who you play with - with Dima Nagiyev or with Vasya Petrov. I believe that there should be no intrigues on set, and I approach filming very seriously.”
The stars of the series “Fizruk” about the new season: “The psycho and Foma will make peace, and Polina will leave the strip club”
— According to TNS Russia, the first episode of “Fizruk” on the TNT channel was watched by almost every third TV viewer in Russia aged 14 to 44 years. In your opinion, what is the success of such popular love?
Vladimir Sychev, “Psycho”: Excellent material, masterfully created idea. When I read the script, I laughed out loud at the first season. This was the first time in many years. We made the second season just as killer as the first, no doubt about it.
— Oksana, in your opinion, how does the first season of the series “Fizruk” differ from the second?
Oksana Sidorenko, “Polina”: It will be even more interesting. And the director is good, Fyodor Stukov. They are both good, both in the first season (Sergey Sentsov - ed.) and in the second. Personally, I really enjoyed working with them!
— What traits of your heroes are close to you personally?
V.: I’m actually as hot-tempered as Alexey Alekseevich “Psycho”. And also a tyrant. In the process of working, I became so close to my hero that there was practically no big difference left between us.
A: My character is actually difficult for me, because I have to play a girl who is not very smart, but who considers herself very smart. And I consider myself a normal girl. And this line is so thin that I cross it all the time. As a result, the director says: “No, Polya cannot be smart! What will happen if Polya is smart?!” In general, Polina’s role is very interesting - a psychologist who works in a strip club. When my friends ask me: “Who are you playing?”, I answer just that - a stripper-psychologist. After that, everyone immediately wants to watch the series.
— Oksana, a question for you: how does the fact that you are a professional dancer help you in the role of Polina?
A: It helps a lot. Especially now, in the second season, where I finally managed to dance, because in the first season they filmed me, but didn’t show anything. This season, I will at least be in the background when Psycho and Thomas have dialogues in the club.
— Do you think the story with “Fizruk” could happen in a provincial school?
V.: In many schools and especially in the regions, things are even much tougher than in the TV series “Fizruk” on TNT. The other day I read that in some provincial school the head teacher was arrested for distributing drugs among students. But with us, on the contrary, everything is very decorous, peaceful, noble, cultural and fun. For example, viewers call me and write all the time: “We have such a physical education teacher!” or even “I’m such a physical education teacher too”!
— Tell me, when you were in school, did you love your physical teachers?
V.: I don’t remember that I particularly loved anyone; they changed often. But he treated me with respect. I loved my sports coaches more.
O.: I would appreciate such a physical teacher, and he would be my authority in life. But I didn’t have anything like this.
— Vladimir, what is the difference between the schoolchildren from the series “Fizruk” and those you played in “Yeralash”?
V.: These are completely different children! My peers and I spent all our free time outside: attics, basements, roofs, tanks... In general, all games were active. And at school there were always some kind of fights and games during breaks. In general, I was a tough bully at school. When I was on duty in high school, God forbid that someone would run next to me in an uneasy manner, or even speak loudly. I had everyone go in pairs. And high school students came up and asked if they could smoke. If I didn’t allow it, then no, no. And now you come somewhere: “Hello! Hello!” and that’s it. Everyone is in their own “gadget”, there is no communication. This is very sad.
— How do you feel about deputy Elena Mizulina’s statement that the TV series “Fizruk” on the TNT channel “promotes disdain for family and school”?
V.: This is all unfounded criticism. The schoolchildren themselves and adults come up to us and thank us for those moments that they are not used to showing on television. Or if they show it, it’s in a very smoothed way. But in fact it is the same as with us. The harsh truth of life.
— Viewers are accustomed to seeing Dmitry Nagiyev in the image of a brutal and daring man. What is he like behind the scenes as a colleague?
Q: Dmitry is a talented actor. Everyone has their own moments both in life and in character, of course. But personally, I find it very comfortable, fun and interesting to work with him. Dima is generally a plowman. He should have more rest, of course.
— Oksana, how does Dmitry Nagiyev behave with women behind the scenes? How is your relationship on the set?
O.: How a woman will place herself with him initially. I noticed that brunettes appeal to him more. He treats me personally very well and helps me as an actor. In fact, it is difficult to work with Psycho and Thomas. They often, when a close-up comes at me, do not follow the script and make their own jokes. Naturally, I start laughing when I shouldn't. (to Vladimir). Please don't do this again!
V.: Nagiyev teases everyone on the set, but only I tease him. When they started filming the first season of the series, in one scene together with Nagiyev, I forgot the text of my role. And Nagiyev immediately - don’t put your finger in your mouth - says: “Well, who did you get here? Same!" - and whistles the melody of “Jumble”. I think: “Oh so! Okay, challenge accepted." I arrive at the next shift and see Dima sitting in the corner, fiddling with his phone. And the whole group is already assembled. And I ask so loudly: “Where is this bald man who is in the frame with me? I always forget my last name. Dima, Dima...what’s his name...ah, Zadov!” And the whole studio shouted: “Ha-ha!” Since then, each of our shoots has been very positive.
— How will your heroes surprise Omsk viewers in the new season of Fizruk on TNT?
V.: At the end of the first season of Fizruk, Psycho and Foma had a fight, and that was what worried everyone. Everyone asked: “Why? How so? Will they make up or not? I promise they will make peace.
A: And my character will finally be taken outside the walls of the strip club, and now Polina travels with our heroes and “resolves issues.”
